This is a port of the music from Knuckles' Chaotix on the 32x to Sonic 3. It's not perfect because:

- Sonic 3 doesn't support 6 FM channels playing at once

- I didn't add the drums yet.

Ths isn't much for practical play, but rather to take the music from it and put in custom hacks. You can play it through though -- It won't blow up. =P

Enjoy, and feel free to use if you want.

Chaotix has awesome music. Sonic 3 is an awesome game.

A match made in heaven. And all you nay-sayers (all? are there any?), music hacking is no small feat.

Uh, I just tried this, and the music engine did indeed blow up. Started the first level, and BAM--no sound at all. The majority of the ported tunes did this, in fact. (using KEGA Fusion, if it helps)

You're also going to have to turn that into an IPS patch. We can't have ROM links here. Sorry...

Oddly, Fusion is the only emulator that it screws up in. I have no idea why... I'm guessng it's a glitch with Fusion.

Anyway, IPS: http://team-sonic.com/Sonic%203%20Chaotix.ips

I updated the first post to include it as well. Enjoy... again. =P

Hmmm, is this hack as good as the S3D music in S3? That one was sex for the ears.

Hmm... I'm afraid I can't say I'm so sure on that one. Though the S3D music ports will make an appearance in my upcoming two hacks: Sonic 3 Megamix and Sonic 3 & Knuckles Megamix; The former to come first.

It went bogey on my Gens, though.

It made a few ear bursting noises though.

I don't think so. I ran it on my Genesis, and I got a small burp of sound when AIZ1 started and then it seems the Z80 hangs completely, as there is no more sound until reset.

Well then I have no clue.

...actually, I do. The fact that a few of those songs are prepped for 6 FM channels when the driver doesn't support it may be why. Also the fact that in later songs, I used an RTS on the DAC pointer.

I did this ages ago. Cut me a bit of slack. =P

Tweaker, great work! This music fits quite well with the Sonic 3 stages.

And yet, so does Ristar's... *shot*

Thanks for taking time out of your life to do this for us. ;
