I said to myself if I get to be an FM again, I would be more active and I would try to post like I used to (well, not as much since I do have more things to do off line these days). So, in that respect, I have decided to bring back the original "ask thread". Not going to go into much history here (unless you really want to know) so, yea, as the title states, ask away.

What's the point of anything that we do or need in life? Honestly, (at least at times) I feel there is no point at all. So what's with the human relationship that most crave? I guess it's because that most people need someone to be at their side, be it a good friend or something sexual. Sure I love my pets and all, but sometimes I guess we need a human touch.

How the hell did you wind up with a DS and Wii? I remember you being mostly excited for Sony products (PSP and PS3), yet I see you nowadays mostly talking about various games on DS and Wii. D:

A: I can't speak for others, but I like the series because of the characters and the story itself. And I'm a bit of a Roy fangirl.

A: After seeing so many people in my store only supporting one system (no matter what), I decided that I didn't want to be one of those people anymore...in fact, it was a bit silly. It also helps that I won a DS (two in fact) and it started to turn out that I was playing more games and spending more time on the DS than the PsP. Now, I did knock down the Wii several times before it came out (so did other people that I work with) but one day I decide that I should actually buy it to see for myself. Yea, so I completely turned around on all of my statements about it. Now I still want a Ps3 and now I want a XB360 as well.

Firstly, it's great to see you back, I had a massive grin on my face when I saw "Ask Anya" back, where it belongs *hugs*

Oh yes I'm supposed to ask a question...

Well I'm moving very soon, should I save up for a Wii or a HD-ready Tv?

If I may be so bold as to weigh in on this one -- not trying to step on Anya's toes or anything, and I'd still like to hear her input, just thought I'd throw down my hand..

The thing about verbal communication is, the way the female brain is wired, it actually makes women feel good. Talking causes a chemical reaction within the female body which produces pleasure endorphins.

That being said, how much pleasure (or, perhaps comfort would be a better word) a woman gets out of such communication, how important that comfort is to her, and whether or not she's even aware of it on a conscious level, all depends on the individual.
There are some women who probably couldn't get by without it, others who don't even register it at all, and some who avoid it because they don't want to register it.

But whether a woman is aware of it or not, that chemical reaction is always there.
The thing with most men is that, they don't really realize that that's how the female brain works, and so they don't realize how important it is for women. As such, they don't pay as much attention as they could, and women end up feeling neglected, as though the things that are important to them are trivial.

Similarly, the thing with most women is that they don't realize that the male brain isn't wired that way. They don't understand that men don't really get anything substantial out of casual conversation, and so when men won't communicate with them, they tend to think there's something wrong, when really, the guy is just being a guy.

So, yeah. Verbal communication is important to women. More to some than to others. And it helps both men and women if they understand why it's important to women and less important to men.

Aaaaand, since I feel obligated to as a question.. Godzilla or King Kong?

Finally!! I have some time to reply to this thread (damn you work and CoH!)

i'm sure all of us are ignored by someone that we... definitely do not want ignoring us before. how do you go about being unignored?
yeah, i realize this question is super vague, but i didn't see anyone else posting...

No idea, mainly because I always feel like I am being ignored. I've just given up on worrying about it, but it does bug me from time to time. But if anything, I guess communication is key, talk to the person/people.

How important would you say is verbal communication to most women?
Depends on her mood. No really. Sometimes we just don't want to hear a damn thing, and other times we cannot stop talking and want you (being male, I guess) to reply. At least that's the way it is for me. Some days I just want to be left alone, by everyone and anyone and others, I just crave the attention and a conversation. Most times, when I feel that way, the other half isn't and when he wants to talk, I don't. Go figure.

Well I'm moving very soon, should I save up for a Wii or a HD-ready Tv?
Hiya Elmo!!! *waves* We need to chat sometime..and I mean soon! And I say go for the Wii! Sure, I'd love to have a HD TV, but, come on, its the Wii. Much more fun to play with and to play with others. And you can send me your Mii!

Aaaaand, since I feel obligated to as a question.. Godzilla or King Kong?
Godzilla. King Kong became weak after going ice skating.

okay, you're a relatively old board member(um... i'm not going to be hurt for that right? i know a lot of people don't like being reminded they're old, even though you're still just 28 or 27...), and i'm sure a lot's happened to you.
what's it been like to lose a *very* close friend? i don't mean ones who just slowly fade away, i mean ones who just vanish from your life entirely.
