"As for you... I'd say you have three options. You can attack the one in front of you, and have your throat slit..." he stated, counting on his fingers, "you can attack the one behind you, risking a counterattack from the one in front of you... or you can try to escape the tricky hold, but... well, I'll just say there is no better option," he finished. "And you did not answer my inquiry. Then again, I believe I am right and that you think I am a dangerous assassin, who will kill all you know without as much of a blink. Am I right?" |

She transformed into a simple doll, while the real Marino burst from her hiding and grasping the inner ring of the Windmill Shuriken slashed in a circle around her, the large shuriken itself spinning like a deadly buzzsaw. She is thinking far ahead to keep herself in the game.
If Phantom got struck, Aninsutouru (Uninstall in english) will disable the Shadow Tag, and also uninstall other forms of external power-ups (that includes Negate chips and Cyber-Elves). Hit or miss, she had split into several copies, releasing a multiple of smaller shuriken with deadly curved arcs as a blanket attack. |

Marino was thrown out of her escape maneuver in surprise, finding herself in the position of the first Phantom... without the grip in the wall and falling with her head pointed downwards. (OoC: Phantom's Kawarimi can now switch places with another person's, and the two of them change places.) If this didn't disorient her, well, he had dropped a flashbomb just set to explode where she was right... now. *FLASH* |

| Plan backfires. She used a conbination of Kawamiri, Kagebunshin, Tenziyouura, and Voodoo Doll. First, after she had inavertedly switched places somehow, she used Kagebunshin to conjure a solid clone during a counter Kawamiri to evade that predicament. While the invisible Marino used Tenziyouura (Dropdown) to melt into the ground and thus become invincible until her next attack, the flashbomb went off and struck the now transformed Voodoo Doll which was in placxe of the "trapped" Marino, which was a bail of hay shaped like a roughly made doll form.
Now that the Voodoo Doll was attacked, a poisonous cloud of miasma explodes all across the battlefield. This destroys the enemy's shadow clones, and also inflict damage fo whatever damage the Flashbomb would of normally done (or whatever status effects it inflicts). During this time, she shifted into a Cross Form, but that remains to be unseen until she reappears for an attack. |

"You aren't very smart, are you?" Marino could hear, as she melted onto the ground, and the miasma began wandering around... *BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM* ...before it was set on fire, the explosion being strong enough to destroy the empty buildings and the streets below. However, if Marino had managed to dive deep enough, she'd probably have avoided being destroyed as well. Then, she'd detect a signal, regardless of what form she took. Phantom seemed to be on another building, clearly expecting her to follow him. (OoC: Unless stated earlier (which it was not), I'm taking the poisonous gas to be flammable by overheated plasma (4th state of matter, not the energy shot).) |

She surprised him by using the Kakigenkin. The so called fiery explosion was all absorbed into a statue of a dragon, which after the gentle harmless glow of its ruby eyes, retaliated with a stream of intense fire at double it's strength, also combined with Aninsutouru. She Yukashita'd (Pop-up'ed) as twins, from his left and right, which ment his way of escape is to dodge the swipe of the swords from Shadow Cross Marino by going back or to leap high into the air to also evade the countered fire attack... or could he be walking into yet another devious trap...? Who knows... |

The dragon statue exploded itself, instead; Phantom could be seen from behind it, at a safe distance, having destroyed it. Then, Marino struck him... only to have both twins smacked on the head, his fists too hard for regular hands, even for a Reploid! In fact... that wasn't bloodstream that fell from him... it was... sand? "Not good enough," he commented, even as he pressed both hands together. "Kai!" Immediately, she was back in a single body, the effects of Yukashita and other enhancements failing, regardless of what happened to her before. (OoC: Kai/Interrupt. Try to up the ante, will you?) |

| Phantom's ability was countered by Marino's own Interrupt ability, which means two Interrupts cancel each other out; which also meant what was supposed to happen never happened.
"Please... be more challenging. Even ShadowMan-sama was tougher on his best days." Phantom had a good look on Shadow Cross Marino. Unlike his Phantom looking Cross Mode she has, Shadow Cross was different. Her armor was purple and black, with the armor thinning around the legs and arms, and sandals fused to her boots. The bodysuit is pitch black but loose-fitting like cloth, an unzipped vest with a long red scarf reaching down to her lower back and the Muramasa strapped to her back. Spiked wristbands are wrapped around her wrists, with knuckle guards around her gloves, and white armor is clamped to the side of her legs. o o o Almost instantly, ShadowMan sneezed inside his PET. Myabi-san glanced at his Navi inside the PET, with an eyebrow raised. ShadowMan answered without having to hear the question. "I'm sorry, but I had the odd feeling someone is speaking about me behind my back." Myabi-san merely nodded and returned back to his meditation routine |

| Phantom glared at her, before crumbling to dust and... concrete?
"That sword of yours..." she heard from behind her; if she turned around, she'd see him, standing behind her, a sword on his back as well. "I see. Shall we finish this? Or should we force this building to suffer more and more?" he asked, opening his hands. "No tricks. A single strike. The one who does not fall is the winner. This person will be able to do whatever he or she wants with the other." Then, he glanced at her eyes. "Or are you afraid of a mere game of chance?" (OoC: Come on, just say yes and don't pull a trick.) |

| She grinned as she jumped back to give them distance. "Ahh, deja'vu... how oddly familiar..."
FLASHBACK - Battle Network Tournament "ShadowMan VS. Phantom" "It's time to end this," ShadowMan declared. At precisely the same moment, the two shinobi leapt into the air and attacked. Sparks flew as their weapons collided and the fight raged on. With neither combatant giving into fatigue, they drove themselves to their absolute limits and poured all their strength into their attacks. "Phantom, end it quickly!" ordered Greg. Phantom flipped away from his opponent and performed an extremely long and complicated sequence of hand signs in fast speeds. When he was finished, a black hole opened up behind him and Nebula Grey rose out from it. The giant monstrosity roared before transforming into Forte, who built up a giant ball of energy in his hand and launched it down on ShadowMan. The resulting explosion nearly destroyed half of the pagoda. When the smoke cleared, ShadowMan could be seen breathing heavily leaning on his sword for support. "Looks like this is the end," Greg smirked. "Don't be so sure," Dark Myabi chided, "We let your attack hit. Just so we could execute our strongest maneuver." Back inside the battle grid, ShadowMan got back to his feet and clutched his sword tightly in his hands. A demonic aura began to emanate from the blade, giving the battlefield a sudden feeling of dread, fear, and despair. "Yes, Muramasa," whispered ShadowMan, "Drink my blood. Feed on my pain. Use my suffering to increase your strength." The sword pulsed in its wielder's grip. "So this is the true power of the Muramasa," Greg said in awe. "And that's just ShadowMan's own weapon," Dark Myabi reminded, "See what happens when I send him the actual chip. Muramasa Battlechip, slot-in!" A second sword appeared in ShadowMan's other hand and it also began to emit a demonic aura. "Phantom! Crest of Arcadia Battlechip, slot-in!" A white column of light engulfed Phantom and the Crest of Arcadia replaced his icon and his eyes became tinted red. "Let's see which is stronger," ShadowMan said menacingly, "the power of the Crest of Arcadia or the power of death." The two ninjas rushed towards each other at maximum speed. The contrast between their auras was overwhelming. The opponents met midway and slashed. They reappeared behind each other on opposite corners of the roof and remained motionless. A gust of wind blew past and everything was silent. Phantom's face remained motionless, devoid of anything. ShadowMan however, his eyes widened in surprise. SHADOWMAN LOGGING OUT END FLASHBACK She smiled oddly enough, shifting into the same stance ShadowMan was in when he battled against Phantom.EXE once landing on the ground. The sword oddly enough began to grow more powerful. The reason is because she stabbed herself with several kunai, using the damage she inflicted upon herself to allow the demonic blade to increase in power. Then, it pulsed in her tight grip, knocking the kunai in her body out and clattering harmlessly on the ground. The wind blew, blowing back on her scarf, the blade glinting in the glow of the pale moonlight. She was ready to take on Phantom's challenge... if he was willing to honor the shinobi code. |

| Phantom took out his own sword, the silver blade glinting in the moonlight. "Whenever you want..." he told her, moving the sword so that the tip was below his waist and the hilt was close to it, his left hand set over the blade, in an offensive position.
Once she moved, he would as well, attempting to strike her down. |

| She smirked, glaring right towards Phantom, directly into his eyes, her aura showing itself to him. She wasn't going to back down from this.
After what seemed like minutes, she shot down at her maximum speed, a blur really. She will leap into the air, and right before the blade lets off a glint of moonlight, she swings her blade and will also be in the position that her airborne position is flawless. After this attack, like the end fo any shinobi duel, appear sbehind teh opponent at the opposite side, completely motionless. |

| Phantom went into pursuit at the same moment, moving about as fast as her, keeping the tip of the blade towards the ground. By his timing, when she was reaching her apex, he jumped as well, moving the blade just slightly. His own attack was slightly delayed, as well.
He landed on the ground safely, completely motionless, standing behind her, turned away... before whispering three words. "Aku soku zan." And, with that, the Muramasa was shattered. ... (OoC: The sword Phantom used automatically destroys evil upon contact, no defense given. 'Aku soku zan' means 'Kill evil swiftly'.) As he stood up, sheathing his sword once more, he began speaking. "You may have noticed that your sword has just been destroyed, after I parried your attack. This happened because of my blade... which is meant to destroy evil beings. The sword also has a backlash effect, which affects you in two manners. If you are an evil being, you will be killed by your own power... but, if you are not, you will be merely paralyzed. I suggest you do not try to escape these bonds, if you are still alive." (OoC: The backlash effect is similar to the prison Vile stuck X in during MMX1 or Mac stuck X in during MMX3. You can't use escape abilities once it affects you.) "Now... can we talk? Or should I leave you here, so that you may wait until you heal, before you can leave as well?" |

| "It's a draw..." She interrupted him, the blade vanished before Muramasa could be deleted, and her Cross Link disabled, returning her to her pink armored self, thus avoiding a paralysis effect.
"Hmph... so you do live up to the honorable code of the shinobi. One of the very few ninjas I have encountered. You may do as your heart contends, but I have one request: Leave me and my friends alone. We are in a war with the Organization and the last thing we need is you and your friends invading our world. While you may not kill for selfish purposes, that Zekt person I can not simply trust. I will wanr you on this..." She spun on her heels and glared deeply into his eyes. "If he ever kills David, I swear to god he better hide his ass well because he'll wish he'd never piss us ALL off..." If Phantom had nothing else to say... MARINO LOGGING OUT ... a male computerized voice announced Marino's log out, leaving Phantom in the light night time fog rolling in... fog? "Can you see deception in your eyes? Can you trully understand the difference between fantasy and reality...? Do you really exist or is this merely a dream that you fool yourself upon?" The same mechanical raspy voice of IllusionMan. Apparently he never vanished, merely watched. But now, his presence was trully gone. ILLUSIONMAN LOGGING OUT |

| Phantom managed to grasp her hand, before she left. "Maybe. But maybe the reason why he fights is simply beyond what you think you know," he told her, coldly. "Even if sometimes I wonder why his own head is too deep into this saving quest of his..."
With that, he teleported away, before IllusionMan could appear again. |

| Marino returned to the sounds of a heavy make-out. At first she was expecting Alia and David but...
"WHAT THE FUCK!? FORTEZERO! LEVIATHAN!" The two teenage reploids sweatdropped, before grabbing their clothes and rushing out of the bedroom. Marino sighed as he logged back online into the nearby PC, and then transfered to her reploid body. What a bad image burned into a bit of her memory files... "Sheesh... time flies fast." It's midnight. She decided to look on the PC for any news abotu what happened, and one bit caught her attention. After fully reading through... she sat in stunned silence, "So... this Pandora and Prometheus were the true powers sealed behind the Gate... ohh shit..." o o o Dark clouds slowly appeared as IllusionMan stepped out into the dark system. He re-holstered his gun and crossed his arms over his chest. "Reality..." he whispered, "...is overrated." |
