As an idea, why not have "NEW" tags not appear when the last post in a forum has been by the person veiwing the index?

I've gone through the index before, and it's kinda annoying to see "NEW" in places, but only because I posted there.

Any opinions on my suggestion?

Smallhacker already suggested this.
Though I still agree, it's mildly annoying to see your own reply when you see a "NEW" next to a forum.

Well, let's bring up my earlier suggestion then: when you click the "NEW" next to a thread, it takes you to the first post made after you marked it read.
