Yes, Yes, I know, this theme is getting old. But since I made one for VB, I thought that I might as well make one for QB as well! Thoughts, peeves, anything about QB, you can post it here!

When I made the Zelda 2 editor, I hit the 640k wall, and couldn't add any more code to the project. That's why I never added enemy editing to the great palace.

I also accidently used the wrong varseg in conjunction with poke, and corrupted my source code in RAM. Didn't remember to save before trying that either. Oops...

But still, Qbasic is 100 times faster than Actionscript. How anyone can consider actionscript to be a legitimate programming language is beyond me.

This thread is uncalled for. It won't be long before a "Let's Rant About BriGuy92" thread surfaces.

Well, it's a full implementation of a published standard, I'd say that qualifies as legitimate.

My only beef with QBasic is that certain operations are mind-bogglingly slow. See also Cycler 1.2 (silly screen-saver type program) and have a tendancy to crash a computer depsite doing nothing amazing.

Beyond that, I wouldn'tm ind the topic starter bringing more than "let's all rant about the language" to the thread, but that's getting off-topic.

This is beginning to become more of a meme than a complaint.

*Metal Man88 waits for "Let's Rant About Everything!!!!" thread

There was actually a way. I did ArkEdit and BubbleEd in QBasic. BubbleEd went to about 1000k+, All u need to do is branch compile in seprate Basic files. Only tough issue I ever hit with QB is it runs slow and it is confusing how to expand memory for the program. But for any beginer it is great!!!

Well, scripts are usually slower than compiled machine code.

Basic is abonden even by Microsoft nowadays, Microsoft wants to move towards C# from what I seen. And QBasic hadn't been included with an OS since Win98 I believe, and even then it's hidden on it's CD.

QBasic might be decent for it's time, but it's horrible outdated. :/
