Not-so-backgrounds, but other trippy stuff I've made using a combonation of this and a little filtering in Irfanview:
I really, really fucked it up last night (trying to program something in it) and I ended up doing this. For example, the current version: |

If I ever finish v2 of this, I'll probably add support for naturally tiling ones too. It's finishing it that's hard, since the new drawing method is a lot more complex and requires a lot of fixing
It took me about a half our to get the first one working (or so, probably more like a full hour), but I was doing a lot of other things at the time. |

Very cool, all of them, but I think I'd like to see them asymmetrical rather than perfectly symmetrical as they appear now. Too neat and perfect-looking, if you ask me. I want them more random. I dunno how hard that would be technically though, so you could disregard that remark if it's unrealistic.
Edit for a typo. |

yay.
Because I actually like them, I just can't stand the flipping effect. the blue and the purple color schemes especially. |

I suppose thinking back I could fix it, but I need ot fix some other issues first (that are far more crippling).
I'll seee about making it tile later. |

what exactly is the process? (or at least a rough idea of it) I'm not sure what I'm even looking at. I'm guessing you could just add a few more rules to the program to make sure the sides align? |

Isn't the basic rule "the more effort you put into something, the better it will look" and "don't post half assed shit here noobs >=(," though? |
D 2007 Posts: 490/497 |
That'd be much harder, though. =( |

I never really did like the flipped/rotate effect. I'd be nice if you could make a few that just plain tile on their own without flipping/rotating. |

0.437 sec.
Here are some others: |

Both versions look really cool, Xk.
Out of curiosity, how long did it take you to make that? |

I like Xk's background version best D:
It's a pretty awesome design. |

Similar to my Cool Star Thing, which is part of a picture of a star or something, mirrored and flipped so it tiles:
and Weird Shit which is the same done to a scribble in Paint with random Photoshop effects/filters added: Susprising how easy these are to make. |

Or, background version: I made these "by hand" (Okay, more like I coded a program in PHP and spent some time in Paint putting it together and Irfanview to recolor the BG). It's pretty nifty, especially since the program that made it only follows a few basic rules. |
