Might say that I collected them all in the chemical plant zone as well last time I played it.

So hah.

You must suck, you should've had them all by chemical plant zone

I'm usually good to go just before the first boss . This is like the first (and only) sonic game that allows you the chance to gather all emeralds and become Super Sonic all in the first level/zone. What i hated though was the uncontrollable transformations (unlike Sonic 3 which required double press of a button, plus shields prevented it).

Yeah, but I was like 7 years old at the time and didn't even know how I'd managed to do that in the first place.

I've never actually had that happen to me, though.

HyperHacker: You can still get out of that by using the same way you got in (try jumping up again), and if not you can always try to scroll a little ways over or try a walljump.

2. Seems like that passing the end sign, then jump around is not a good idea when you have all emeralds and you have over 50 rings... one time Sonic transformed into Super sonic but was stuck in a position, with the timer frozen and nothing else happening. I had a really good timing there. --; (Found a Youtube video of that glitch... grah)

I actually had that happen to me a few times :/ it sucks.

I hate Sonic 2. I couldn't beat the first boss due to some falling threw the tiles glitch.

You can get out of there with walljumping, which can be a bit tricky to pull off realtime (hadn't done it myself much to be honest)

Hm, that reminds me of this bug I got bit by ages ago. Apparently in SMB1 you can jump up through some gaps that you can't fall back down through.

The Super Sonic bug doesn't occur if Sonic jumps and is off the screen to the right. He'll still turn Super Sonic and stay in mid air, but he'll be off the screen, which is needed to cue the bonus score sequence. Now one bug I can't stand is in Wing Fortress, if you spin dash and happen to move over some fans that make you float and slam against a wall or object, that's it, you're stuck. You can't move. Of course, you can still play by letting the time run out, but it's damn annoying never the less.

I still think the best bug I've ever found in a game, was the roll+jump infinitely in the first mines level for Donkey Kong Country. I found that out when that game was actually new, with a friend. Back then we always though "Oh man we have to put this up on gamesages!" (props to those who remember that site).

But yeah, Sonic & Knuckles + Sonic 3 is the most fun to get all the Emeralds with.

And Ailure, definitely be sure to play Sonic CD. Do not miss out on that game.

SMB1 crashed on me once or twice when I was young, but I think that was more about the NES being cleaned than anything else.

It's always interesting to see what certain game revisions do, even if the bug was so minor that you had a million to one chance of running into it.

Debug modes, ironically, do tend to break parts of games sometimes.

I've run into a glitch on Sonic 1 when you've got all the emeralds, have debug mode turned on and you're about to enter Scrap Brain Zone Act 3 by jumping through the floor. I find that I can't finish the zone and get caught in a loop where I fall down then fall from the ceiling back into area I just fell from.

Sonic 3 & Knuckles is my favorite to complete with all the emeralds, I just find it to be a more rounded experience with better-designed zones.

I've never heard of a player sucking so bad the game crashes. Though SMB1 did crash on me for no reason once when I was quite young, and of course I sucked at it back then...

It turns out that the new one one was used on the genesis multipac. I think was called sonic mega pack or something. It only corrected the super sonic glitch though.

I've had that glitch happen to me (The Super-Sonic transforming glitch), hate it very much.

I enjoy being Hyper Sonic in 3 + Knuckles more though, so I don't run into it very often. (Plus game saves!)

I was sort of playing on emulator, the Sonic mega collection for Gamecube.

I guess they got the older version of Sonic2 for the collection or something. *shrug*

yeah, I thought that. I was just saying that If he wanted a better version he should get that rom. Over thanksgiving I was about to beat it with all emeralds on sonic mega collection. I began to attack silver sonic and somehow flipped him upside down ultimatley glitching the game and spoiling an hour an a half of fun.
