Zelda, although I must say, Super Mario Bros. 1 totally rocks Legend of Zelda's (Original) pants off. |

Has to be Mario. He's the one who started it all and he's the one who's still on top. |

... and F-Zero?
etc etc etc. Obviously Mario, Zelda, and Metroid are Nintendo's biggest "icons", a poll just between those three would've been best. |

It'd be similar to calling Metropolis Street Racer a Sega racer- it's not, but Bizarre Creations were also developing the game for Sega with access to Sega staff such as Richard Jaques. Whatever affiliation HAL has with Nintendo, he's not in the same elite group as Metroid, Zelda, Donkey Kong and Mario. My vote goes with Zelda, with a very close second to Metroid. Mario has definately fallen on harder times in the past few years since Mario 64, whereas Zelda and Metroid have gone from strength to strength. |

Count yourself lucky I forgot to add the rule about shitty polls until I saw this one.
Anyway, for a long time it was Mario. But, more recently, Zelda games have remained mostly fun (from the ones I've played, I haven't gotten to TP yet) while I found almost no enjoyment in Super Mario Sunshine, and little in the constant rehashed ports. So, Zelda. |

That would kind of be like including Crash Bandicoot, or Spyro the Dragon. I don't like the sonic games anymore. I was almost obsessive over Sonic the Hedgehog 1, 2, 3 and Knuckles, but now, not so much. It seems like they are just trying to create filler characters, which they probably should have had more when Sonic was soley a Sega series. As for the poll, I would probably have to go with Mario. Why? Because I have yet to play a Metroid or Zelda game in my life. Kirby, ehhh, they seem a little childish, but most of Nintendo concept ideas are a little bizzarre. Overall, I'm not to big on Nintendo itself. I'd prefer Playstation over it any day. |

I voted Mario. Nothing against Zelda and Kirby, I like them too, but I like Mario more. Metroid .. err .. yeah .. never played any of them.
And this poll IS missing a fair bit of categories, eh? |

Zelda. Most definitely. |

Once again, the mindless goons forget to include the Donkey Kong series. But, seeing as Nintendo doesn't give two shits about him, I guess it's okay to not include him. It was Rare Ltd. who changed him for the better; the Arcade DK was just a King Kong clone, and the current Nintendo DK is an agressive shit-for-brains. But then again, Nintendo owns Rare's DK characters (yet they didn't use them in DK's GCN adventure!). Note that Paon developed DK King of Swing, and that Nintendo developed Jungle Beat.
So in all, I guess I'll go with Mario, since in my eyes, I still see DK as Rare/Paon's property. |

Originally posted by Yoronosuku I don't mind old games like Adventure 2: Battle being rereleased. But the fact its on Nintendo is...um...I dunno. I liked Dreamcast and such... And Sonic Heroes was a crappy demo. Never bothered to get it. That's why I now dislike Sonic and his gang. |

The fact that you listed Sonic as a Nintendo series makes me cry so very hard deep within the depths of my soul. Wow. |

Yay, failing thread!
Mario FOR THE WIN! My very first game was actually Super Mario World (along with a Bugs Bunny game... ). Metroid is in close second, along with Pokemon, Kirby, Zelda, Bomberman, Sonic, and a lot of other games. XD I could tell you more, but then I'd get one giant post.... |

I've never met a Metroid game I didn't like (though I've met a couple I never got around to finishing). It gets my vote for all around coolness, although Mario is great fun.
Zelda, I've never cared for as a series. The NES games never really captured my interest, LttP and Awakening were okay, but Oracles and the N64 games just didn't do it for me. I did, however, enjoy Minish Cap, and I'm having a good time with Wind Waker, which I just got the other day. Looking forward to Twilight Princess when I have a Wii to play it on, too. As for Kirby, well. The games are fun, but I haven't really played many of them, and the ones I have played, I didn't play very much. I should fix that sometime. |
