Well, I'll try Vmware, and i'll be back if it doesn't work! |

Well, virtualization on hardware that wasn't designed for it is itself a bug-prone process. I've seen operating systems, even ones using Linux, that crash in VMware; hell, Fedora Core 6 won't even install in VMware. |

Linux not working in an emulator written by Microsoft. Now there's a fucking shock.
I'd lay $10 the error is deliberate. |

You don't need to. VMware Player is free-of-charge, you can use VMXBuilder, EasyVMX, or similar to make the virtual machines. Either that, or VMware Server is also free-of-charge, though requires a key (which takes a minute to write false info in the form ) |

Yeah, but I can't afford VMWare. |

My suggestion is to avoid mixing Microsoft products with Linux as often as possible.
You'd probably have much better luck with VMWare than with Virtual PC, as VMWare is designed to be compatible with as many different operating systems as possible. |

Hey all. I'm trying to install ubuntu Linux in a Virtual Machine and I need some help. (The vm is Microsoft Virtual PC 2004) Every time I try to install the OS, Windows gives me a message and tells me that "Virtual PC has experienced an error and needs to close." Yipes. Almost as bad as the infamous Blue Screen of Death! (gulp). Anyone know something that could help? |
