What's your sound card's name, where is it plugged in, and can you give any details from Windows XP's Device Manager?

I've looked through your dmesg a couple times and nothing stands out as being a sound card. Could mean that your BIOS for whatever reason isn't telling your kernel about the card; even unsupported hardware should be listed in dmesg.

Do this command and attach the resulting file:
dmesg > dmesg.txt

I have pclinuxos junior and i can't get any sound. since sound works in winxp but not linux, i have been told i probably have on-board sound in stead of a plugin sound card. any way to get sound in linux from my pc
(without buying/installing a sound card) ?
