Nehh, I think the game is Ok, but the concept is just getting old. Add, like, evil drugged up monkeys that can steal skate boards and you have to get another board before getting another |

And yeah, THUG2 kind of sucked a bit in comparison to the first one, but even then it wasn't bad, per se. But THAW was still good. |

Originally posted by Grey Well, I've liked almost every game, with the exception of Underground 2 and American Wasteland. Underground 1, in my opinion, brought new life into the franchise with the revamp of the graphics and actually interpretting a storyline. But you are right, it is getting a bit old and you say the license isn't running out until 2015? That is a bit ridiculous. But, if something doesn't change, I really don't know how successful the next.. thirteen games are going to be. |

And here I was under the impression that this was the game to breathe new life into the franchise. |

After eight games, you think the series might be going downhill?
I actually liked American Wasteland quite a bit, but before that the last really good Tony Hawk game was 3. And of course, nothing will ever really beat 2 in terms of sheer improvement over the last one. Still, the Revert was a great trick to add in, and beyond that you really didn't need much more to get that ever-lasting combo that you were searching for. Park and Skater creator was great and expansive, and the unlockables were juuuuust right. But the entire thing is getting old, dammit. Tony Hawk himself is 38 years old, and his license with Activision doesn't run out until 2015. I don't know how much longer I can handle seeing Tony Hawk games... |

Looked around and didn't see a thread about the new Tony Hawk: Project 8 game. If there already is one, my apologies.
Okay, well, the eighth game is definitely an improvement, graphics wise, but, in my opinion, the storyline and.. goals are still lacking. Don't get me wrong, I loved the originals and I absolutey adored the first underground... but, I think the Tony Hawk series might be going downhill. The game starts off as all of the other next Gen Tony Hawks do, creating a character and being thrown right into the city, attempting to complete goals, and get access to the next level. As stated before, the graphics are amazing, and the movies are pretty good too. I find the Nextel phone very annoying as it repeatedly plays the same messages over and over on occasion. So, anyone played it? Anyone want to play it? If you've played it, what do you think so far, is it an improvement, or just a part of the steady downhill slide, from the once great Tony Hawk series. |
