I just tried using that IKAAAE code in FCE Ultra. It really screws up the game, edging on crashing completely. Any idea just what kind of varible that IKAAAE changes to screw the game up that bad?

Yeah, this is.

As people have already said, game corruption does not work this way. This is just... Stupid.

If there are no objections, then...

I prefer Corrupting Super Mario Bros. 3.

IKAAAE nearly gives me a seizure. I can only imagine what PLAYING with the code is like.

(No, I'm not trying. I value my sanity.)

That was dumb and hardly resembled a corrupted game at all. Though, you'd be amazed the effects you can get in Super Mario 64 without making the game crash or anything, by screwing with graphic variables in the 8032Cxxx range. I made this huge code screwing with like 16 of them that made the whole game look like Mario was on 'shroomz (which is exactly what I called it). When you got into cannons it looked like the mask covering the screen to make the circular view had melted. The music was just insane and occasionally contained clips of Mario saying things at random pitches, chicken-like sounds, etc. Colours and textures were utterly destroyed and flashed at random. It was awesome but of course every copy of the code disappeared at once.

You could also tweak a few to get a "disco mode" where polygons changed colour at random.

The flash tub have featured corruption severeal times, but it tends to be in the more pscyhotic way (aka you expect the game to jump out and kill you way).

Some of thoose fake corruption flashes are actually kind of unrealistic.

I think IKAAAE is the closest you're going to get.

Most of the (interesting) corruption iI get on the old NES is just some of the graphics being wrong, nothing amazing.

Looks like a crappy flash animation that's meant to resemble a malfunctioning game, but it's certainly not very good or funny, in my opinion.

And in all honesty I doubt a game would act anything like this if it were simply corrupted. I'd expect some reprogramming to have occurred to make it do that (kinda like the Mario Movie).

Looks like my old, glitched username finally left, so I'll start using this new one.

SA's latest Flash Tub playset has me wondering: have any of you experienced corruption like this:

Seems like it'd be the stuff of fantasy for the game to last that long with those conditions.
