What a pain, I guess in the future I'll make new levels in a fresh rom and then when done import them to my hack. I've got changes all over the place now it's too much hassle to do this every 2-3 levels. |

Well try saving all the tracks to files, importing them to a fresh ROM, then redoing any other changes. TrackDes has some bugs in file management (and is plagued by a Windows bug in window management, watch out at the left edge of the window ). |

Thanks... but the file does not have the read only attribute set. It's also not open in any other applications etc. |

Right click the rom, go to properties, where it says atributes see if the box "Read-only" is checked, if yes, then un-check it. |

I’ve come across this error with TrackDes 3 times now. The first time I hadn’t many changes in my hack so I exported all the new tracks and imported them all in to a fresh rom. The second time I jumped to the area of the rom that the level had been placed and cleared it out with a hex editor. This allowed me to then save the track, this time however that hasn’t worked. There is lots of space free in the file as TrackDes expands the rom to 2 meg. Does anyone know what causes this and how to get around it? |
