Really hard... Hope you have room to make 'em harder as the game progresses lol. I recomend taking almsot all the danger away from the start of a level, cuz its funner if your not instantly in trouble. Maybe shift the entire level 1 screen over and put flat ground the rest of the way? Its up to you but thats what I recomend. I'll play this game a little bit more later but for now you get a simple review.

3/5 - 5 being as good as the real thing. Might raise if I see some cool tricks like I have in other hacks. And Im a critical guy so you accually scored pretty well.

...annnnnnnnnd that's where I lose hope. Jesus christ, people, can the lot of you try making ORIGINAL material for once?

I do like the graphics, though, so props to IceGoom.

Sorry Icegoom, I didn't see this part of the post. But yeah, it's Bowser talking to Mario through the message blocks.

Wow, I love the new approach you took on the original art style! Nice and clean, and looks a lot more detailed.

I don't think those are his.

I meant to post earlier, but I was really busy this past week. I still gotta tie up a few loose ends. Thanks for the comments everyone, I really appreciate'em. I'll take the comments in consideration when I work on the hack some more. Most likely in 2007.

I thought it was ok but there were definitely some things that can be changed.

The whole "Gangsta" tone doesn't fit with a Mario game, especially when only the text is done in that tone. If the graphics and sprites were redrawn to reflect that tone then it would work better.

Yoshi's Island 1, 4 and the Yellow Switch were stupid long. I got so bored of them as I went through them. Plus there weren't even any real landscape changes as you moved on. It was just the same puzzles and/or landscaping that kept getting re-hashed through the whole (long) level.

It didn't strike me as neccesary to put a message block every so often with Bowser saying "I can't believe you made it this far" or some variation of those words. Maybe one at the castle, but not twice in every level.

Overall, it was very hard. For the first level, that was way too difficult. It's the first level; give us some slack!

(Also, was the name of the level "Chuck You, Nicca" really neccesary? Some people might get offended...)

Don't get me wrong--there were good things about it. For example, the Canyon level was an interesting design and not as repetitive either. Same for the Castle. The way some of the Dry Bones were placed made it difficult to get around them.

I hope you take some of these and others' suggestions and continue on successfully. Good luck and I'll look forward to the next release!

It was pretty fun. It's actually not nearly as difficult as your SMB1 hacks, so that's a plus for people like me who aren't that good at Mario games.

Instant death level should be taken out. Levels can be more difficult without the presence of switch blocks, but they shouldn't be impossible. The switch palace itself was probably a bit too long.

The message blocks are supposed to be Bowser talking to Mario, right? The tone seemed about right if that's the case.

Yeah, definitely a bit too far on the hard side. I love a good challenge, but when I have to use dozens of save states just to be a level, there's a problem.

See if you can tone it down. The best levels are the ones that are fun and challenging, yet don't require experienced players to save state.

Edit: The canyon level and castle level didn't seem so bad, actually. They weren't too long and hard.

On a side note, the messages completely ruin the atmosphere. It's a bright and cheery Mario game, so bringing "gansta" talk into it... clashes, you know?

He did put a hint/warning in Yoshi's house though... but I went to Yoshi's Island 2 anyway, just to make sure. I died.

Got passed the first level with one life left, and moved onto the second level straight away. Thanks.

Reasonably well-designed other than that, though.

I've played through the first two levels and the switch palace, and I thought they were hard. I found myself using the savestate key a lot (or maybe I'm just really bad ). The levels were generally fun; however, they got a bit repetitive by the end of the level (especially the switch palace). I would have found the demo more enjoyable if the levels were just a tad shorter to cut down on the repetition. Still, this hack is showing promise and I'm looking forward to your next release. Good luck!

Alays been a fan of your work, Googie really like these, the levels are simplistic but not too simple, just right. If I didn't know better I'd say they could pass off as real SMW levels. Keep it up ^^

Hey fellas, here's my world 1 demo of Super Mario World. I took a page from Icegoom and used his SmW Redrawn as a base. I'm still gettin the hang of Lunar Magic, so please go easy on me. Somma the levels are longer than the original SmW levels. I hope you all like it, here's some screens...

Read the readme please, enjoy.
