Apparently, my cable internet loads the pages so fast that stopping the page always causes it to stop in the middle of loading the page.

Also, w3m is so weird. In a recent xterm and clones, it can actually display images in the terminal. And it lacks the CSS support necessary for my trick to work, whoo!

I would rely on CSS defining the entire page to be black on black.

And technically, even if there were no methods to stop the redirect, you'd still be able to view the topic for a split second. You'd have to do something pretty crazy if you wanted it to be truly unviewable.

IRC told me it, though when Javascript wasn't being used, my next step was to simply use ELinks.... heh sometimes it's handy to read source code on boredom days.

Yeah, the Esc method is obvious. I resorted to it after my attempt to be classy and go through the back door via disabling JavaScript failed.
