Wow, I didn't know this at all. I knew it was in Mario Paint...but wow. And I've got SML2 and LOZ Link's Awakening, I should go look at these. And he says Totaka worked on Luigi's Mansion, maybe I could hunt around and see if I find anything.

By the way, about that part where he enters his name in the Japanese LOZ game...there's something similar in the American version. You just enter ZELDA for your name, all caps, but it doesn't play the same song.

You're not the only one who thought on this. XD I doubt he actually forced it though... but I wonder if he's attached to that song for some reason. Might be something he made as kid.

Well, considering K.K. Slider's actual name is Totakeke, I'm guessing Nintendo has no problem with his little melody if K.K. Song is an homage to that.

Have you played Mario Paint for the SNES and clicked on the O on the title screen? Have you requested "K.K. Song" from K.K. Slider in Animal Crossing? Maybe you've heard this short tune in one of many other games, such as Link's Awakening or Yoshi's Story?

This short tune that appears in a multitude of games is the "trademark," of sorts, of Nintendo composer Kazumi Totaka. It's appeared in many games (the extent of which I was not aware of until now) and could possibly be in more games that he has had a hand in.

Powet.tv gives a discussion on the topic, as well as examples of its ubiquitousness. I would like to ask if anyone has noticed this before, and if so if they've found it in any of Totaka's other contributions, which include Wave Race 64 and Luigi's Mansion.

Discuss!

Edit: after doing a bit more research, I learned that Totaka did not work on Wario Land for the Game Boy, despite it being stated as such in the video.
