SPCs and ZSTs.

That's all I ever asked and now it's all gone.

WAIT. What.

Zophar was founded on my BIRTHDAY?!?

Whoa...

Anyways, I still use Zophar...Acmlm.org is far to unorganized, although it isn't blocked at school... Acmlm.org just bothers me as it doesn't get updated or anything...Hell, I would run it, you know. At least I would update it, despite the number of hits(poke poke Xk, finish what you start)...

Hey, he brought it back and plugged MAGFest (OR: East Coast PAX, OR EVEN: "PAX Before PAX Ever Existed"). Good enough for me.

ADDITIONALLY: If it's NSFs you're looking for, this has your hookup. It's run by one of the guys who frequents the Minibosses Message Board.

Yoro's Domain would be really freaky to see. XD

Yeah, just game music (NSF, SPC, etc.) and anything to do with it. It's not the worst idea in the world for a site.

Like VGMusic or Galbadia Hotel? I don't like VGMusic that much for being MIDI and Galbadia Hotel Could have a much better variety, but I guess that's all we got to work with. Torrents always work for Video Game music
(Ok, I'm whoring out torrents too much, I'll stop now.)

NONONONONONOON BAD NintendoFB
Game music that comes from the game it's self in formats like spc
that can be played with special plugins. They are a small size sound great and I can download them fast (dial-up woo )
You're perfectly right. .SPC's (and other music formats) along with Winamp are a better combination for game music than downloading huge torrents. There's a crapload of plugins out there, Winamp is free and is a nice music player, and there's http://www.snesmusic.org for SPCs, at least. I'm not so sure about other consoles' forms of music, but GBA music is semi-popular if I'm not mistaken, so it would be just as easy to get that as well.

I remember first venturing upon it years ago back when it was the greatest thing I'd seen (but then again, I was probably also saying "whar r the romz?" back then. ) But yes, recently it became really outdated and someone should have taken over to return it to some sort of shadow of its old self, with an obviously greatly updated feel.

Sad thing is that he brought it back up, but he probably won't update it himself.

I don't understand why that stubborn old bastard still has a death grip on the site's withered husk. It's not like he makes a living off of it, especially with the ZD Store long gone. He could have easily handed the reins over to someone who actually, you know, CARED about the place years ago, before it turned into (even more of) a huge joke. I know for a fact that lots of people were ready and willing to completely revamp the site and bring it into the 21st century.

Hope you enjoy your sad, empty little kingdom, King Sam.

Sites will just need to step up to overcome its absence. :\

Depressing. All these sort of sites are going away quickly. I was surprised Zophar lasted as long as it did. I remember hearing many times that it had gone away but now it really has.

Eh, it sorta stagnated, and I stopped going there for a long time. It's not really so amazing; probably more of a boring thing.

WHY, ZOPHAR.... WHY??

I didn't know this would happen. I've pretty much found everything I ever needed there. I would've never gotten into ROM hacking if I didn't read the tech documents on there. Oh well I guess... Hopefully acmlm.org will suit my needs just as well.

Egh, this kind of sucks. I was actually going there a lot recently for music files. Guess I'll finally make the switch to acmlm.org.

Also, I'd like to say those years were also fun when Challenge Games was around. Their messageboard was the first one I joined, and from there I learned a ton of stuff about Rom Hacking and even Acmlm's. Dragon Eye Studios was pretty fun, but short lived as well. May they R.I.P as well.

Eh, it's still sad because they were my introduction to this crazy, mixed-up world of ROHM acking. A little nostalgic, yes, but this isn't about the past, it's about how torrents Fucking Rule.
