Considering that their main market for that game was meant to be "Japanese people", I don't think they cared that it would go over the heads of Western players.

I could tell it was Japanese when I first played it. Nice to know what it means but it's certainly something that would go over the head of most people.

I've always wondered what the blocks in this level are meant to spell out.

World 9-4

I think it says Punto or PIJHL9 or something. May be foreign characters though. Anyone have any idea?
