Well, no point to any other non-alphanumeric characters in names either, but they keep things PHRESH. But yeah, since there aren't currently any names with quotes in them, it makes sense to disallow those and use them for the quote tags.

Maybe modify the registration process to disallow non-ASCII characters, and only A-Z, a-z, 0-9, and space?

And after testing it on my board, names like [GGS Cruel Justice] or [E]lric work fine with quoting. I'm not sure how X set it up here, but for my board, I make it do [quote="Name to be quoted here"]text to quote here[/quote]. It seems putting the name in "quotes" works...
