Guess I'll bring this topic back up a bit.

So, who got a Wii? Who's loving it?

I still think VC games seem a bit pricey, but then again I own just about everything available to download right now. I think once I start seeing more rare games or games I don't have I'll change my mind.

I didn't pre-order anything. I just camped out at Best Buy around 7:00 AM with a few friends, 2 hours before they opened (I guess they open an hour early on launch days). What's sad is, at around 8:40 or so some guy came walking up to our line (there were about 80 people, 73 got a Wii), holding a Wii in his hands. "Okay, who has cash and doesn't want to wait in line?" Looking around I just saw people disgusted, annoyed, and some that thought it was hilarious. He basically got flamed by a few people, and people laughed at him because we just had a mere 20 minutes to wait before we got our own. He stood around kind of dumbfouned for awhile but then the GM of the Best Buy came out and basically told him to take a hike.

I just hope he didn't buy a Wii to just try and sell, because now that its out all over ... then again, he had it coming.

It's better than the e-cards because you can't exactly fit a game like Super Metroid on e-cards.

I'm going to predict that some of these games get online play but not at launch.

I think, provided Nintendo is smart about things, they will provide stable online play. I mean, they would gain a large backing from that. XBLA may provide some classics but they are too few and far between, not to mention that almost every old title has had some sort of massive problem with online play. Otherwise how is this any better from the e-cards on the gba?

They probably would but a lot of those games will sell. It's hardly costing Nintendo anything to put their catalog on there, so any profit is good profit.

So according to a curreny convertor, 1000 points equilants to 90 SEK (thoguh I have a feeling it winds up being 100 SEK for the localized version here). And even then that's quite fair for a N64 game. N64 games costed something like 500-600 SEK here when they were sold after all. I think the NES games could be a little bit cheaper but oh well. I assume they change prices if somehing dosen't sell too well. :/

I don't think games like DKC, Contra, etc. are going to remain exclusive to one territory.

Nintendo's said in the past that they're looking into online play; of course, if/when it happens is another story.

That'd require actual effort, which is more than Nintendo is willing to put in. See also: Lack ofgood games getting translated.

Also, the regional "uh, you don't get that game" differences are one of the reasons that I'll just stick to emulation.

Besides, as of now my computer can play Kirby Super Star online, and the Whee can't. Until that gets fixed, emulation is both cheaper and better.

They could really get something going here if they had online multiplayer for the VC titles. I mean it's hard as hell on the computer getting that to work, let alone finding people to play with. But on the VC, who would NOT play mario kart 64 online? All in all, it's cool but I hope the VC ports don't just stay as ports.

Dogan, Colin already posted that.

Various games will use various control schemes. Apparently if you have a Wavebird, it'll help you out a bit.

I also heard something about the Gamecube controller...

Nope, you can still use the regular Wiimote here

Neither of those is probably a priority, and Bomberman's coming to the system in TG-16 form. (Granted, I know the N64 version is different and actually quite good, but still.)

The ESRB released even MORE VC titles over the past couple of days, since Nintendo has to get them all approved... bear in mind that this does NOT mean they'll all be released in 2006, but that they're on the schedule.

NES: Dr. Mario, Duck Hunt, Excitebike, Hogan's Alley, Ice Climber, Kid Icarus, Kirby's Adventure, Pro Wrestling, Punch-Out, Wild Gunman
SNES: Kirby's Dream Land 3, Kirby's Super Star, Pilot Wings, Super Mario RPG, Super Metroid
N64: Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Mario Kart 64, Starfox 64

Some VERY good titles in that list.

You're already getting the console before the end of 2006, that's a milestone for you guys.

And the bloody game was developed in the UK anyway. We deserve SOME perks for living here, don't we?

And it'll almost definitely make it over here at some point. My guess is that DKC always did well in Europe so...

Donkey Kong Country is going to be in the Euro launch lineup.

I love how the woefully underappreciated Turbo-Grafx games don't count as "rare", apparently.

Well, if they ever release Keith Courage then you can't say that game's rare.

Really? I figured Nintendo would manage to make the remote useful for Brawl. The thought of it might seem uncomfortable, but Nintendo has a magical way of working things out so that everything is comfortable for you....

I could have sworn that Nintendo said they would not implement the Wiimote in the game.

Anyway, Gunstar Heroes + Metal Slug = awesome.
