I love all the Dooms but I've yet to play Doom 3, I want to soooooo bad.

Goldeneye is another great one.

But my favorite FPS series is Half Life. I haven't played Half Life 2 yet, but I could play Half Life for hours. It's challenging, it's funny, it's just great all together. The one challenge I love doing is trying to beat the game with just using the crowbar. I can only do it up until you get to Xen, there I always have problems killing the Mother Headcrab with the crowbar.

Opposing Forces was a good add on and Blue Shift was short but still fun but way too easy.

If you can see my layout, you can probably guess, heh.

The original Doom series still has a massive editing community and plenty of new maps to play. There are also source ports for every operating system going, which add new features to the engine like slopes, 3D floors, OpenGL support, etc.

In slightly smaller amounts, I've also been known to play:

Battlefield 1942 + Desert Combat / DCX
UT (the original one, not those yearly cash-ins)
Jedi Academy
StarWars Battlefront
AvP 2

Halo 2 is my current FPS of choice. I also just got SW:BF2, and it's pretty cool. I used to love GoldenEye back in the day. I pretty much only play FPS' for the multiplayer, so if it's not that good, I don't go for it.

The AI is just plain stupid in Desert Combat. One of the bots in my team killed me by crushing me under a tank.

But yeah, itīs fun.

The mod Desert combat for BF1942 is very fun. Hell... me and my sister got BF1942 just for Desert combat (besides, the game was sold cheaply in the store so...).

Althought the BF engine can be sort of funny sometimes. Ever seen someone riding on a helicopter in Desert Combat? Me and my sister did that once, it's fun... but hardly practical in a serious game to be honest.

First, make sure your mouse sensitivity is at the lowest. A good player uses these settings. With an IDF-Defender or any machine gun, crouch down and shoot the bottom of your enemy and work your way to the head. When you get up, shoot, strafe, shoot, strafe. Keep going and you should get a good shot. I've played the old one for 5 years and the new one for about a year now. Those basics can go a long way.

wtf are you being serious if so then you fucking suck

hint: aim for the head

Step one: Crouch.
Step two: Bring crosshair towards head/torso.
Step three: In moderated, short bursts, proceed to blow target's head to shit.

Mouse sensetivity should ALWAYS be at least 1/2 to 2/3 of the way to the maximum, unless you have like, a square yard of space to move around in. It takes a little getting used to, but the overall increase in reaction speed and turn time is worth it. I've been nipped from behind more times than I can count because I wasn't fast enough to 180 and blow my foe's head off.

UT2k4 is where it's at, people. That and Half Life 2. And of course, the finest WWII series in the lot, Call of Duty. Counter Strike, Medal of Honor, and Battlefield 1942 really don't do it for me. I'm especially repulsed by BF1942. And for all of you BF fans, I ask you this: Have you ever played Battlefield 1982? I had a very bad experience with it, and I have decided that I definitely don't like the BF engine.

Though, I have to admit, driving an AT-AT is pretty fun in Battlefront. Even if the entire game is just a direct rip of 1942 with Star Wars maps.

I was not a very big fan of FPS games. I used to play Tribes II, quite alot, but lost interest in it a very long time ago. I got in to the 007 series, for a little bit. I own Agent Under Fire, for the Gamecube..I really only play it for multiplayer with friends, but if I am really bored, sometimes I will take it out and play by myself. I was never that good at these games..I was not the very worst, but also, nothing special ._.; It just wasn't a genre I really cared to do alot of improving in.

I've played some HaloCE recently. It is quite fun with custom models and all that jazz.

But my ultimate faves are:
Half-life 2: Physics engine is teh best. and it is durn pretty too!
Half-life: For being a "run trough claustrophic areas while shooting stuff only to find a almost impossible to beat puzzle" FPS, it did play out pretty well.
Doom2: Awesome. nothing else i can say.

And. of course. a must have in every FPS gamers collection, Rarewares masterpeice, Perfect Dark. God damn that game has it all. Except Hl2's physics and graphics but it is awesome from the title-screen to the credits.

UT2004; gives me a helluva adrenaline kick if im play9ng a intense assault level ;

Hah. I have wonderful parties wherein Metroid Prime 2 is played. It gets more fun when you're really tired and will laugh at anything... But the same applies for Mario Party, so eh. I love the N64 Goldeneye, but none of my friends do. I've played Halo, and I'm unimpressed. Yeah, I need a closing tag...

I'm in love with F.E.A.R. right now, even though it don't look pretty on my 9200.

I want to get BF2 for something to play online, since I don't like FEAR's multiplayer

Halo 1 & 2

Aside from that, nothing else. I am contemplating on getting Half-Life 2 and Doom this month so that will rock.

You're probably fed up with auto-aimers and whatnot eh? I hated that the first time I played but there are some tricks you chould try.
