Well, there are two possible outcomes for this new version of The Birds. First, we could get a copy of the story Alfred Hitchcock told or we could get something closer to the original short story by Daphne du Maurier.
Let's just say that the two are pretty different. The only similarity is that birds go crazy and start killing people. I sincerely hope it's the latter. Note: The short story is pretty slick, actually. Good read. |

danielle...the birds, in film theory, is a very serious film relating to the idea of auteurship and the fact that given the special effect abilities of the time managed to create an atmosphere of suspense. I mean...it won the oscar for special effects.
As for Michael Bay, he is an interesting director and is recognized for his skills that he can impart on a film. His very well edited films are exciting and they have amazing cuts so that it flows naturally. Additionally his two best movies, The Rock and Armageddon, really manage to let us see what he is capable of as a director prior to Hollywood getting its hands on him and turning him into a marketing machine. Yes, Pearl Harbour really, really sucked. |

Noooooooooooooooooo
To me, the best part of watching The Birds is the fact that the birds look so obviously fake. They'll be making a movie that shouldn't be taken seriously, be taken seriously. |

I'm putting a loonie on at least one Dive-Bombing Attacking Bird's Eye View shot. Also, that the movie will somehow suck less than Pearl Harbor. |

...because Michael Bay is going to remake The Birds.
Given Bay's history, I don't have anything else to say. |
