What it isnt a good idea?
He is indeed going early to get the already pre-ordered wii so I go with him and if there are more than the pre-ordered amount I can buy one. |

LOL. What are you talking about, Colin? That's obviously the best plan ever. |

Now I have a plan, since my neighboor has it preordered he will go to ebgames early to buy then I go with him and take one of the wiis too.
... Not even going to bother... |

Ok thanks all for the comments.
Now I have a plan, since my neighboor has it preordered he will go to ebgames early to buy then I go with him and take one of the wiis too. Hopefully there will be more than twelve as the manager said. |

You need to stop worrying about this. If getting a Wii on release is the only thing that matters to you, then you need to re-evaluate your priorities. |

Bah! I'm guessing that you'll be able to pick one up on the day anyway. There'll be plenty!
If not, you won't have long to wait. Just be thankful that you don't live here in Australia. Release date: 7th December Price: Hmm... What was it that Emptyeye said... $249US / $331.86 Australian? Well, yes...if you follow exchange rates, but we get slapped in the face with a $301.90US / $399AU pricetag. Reasoning? Well uhh... There's the Goods and Services Tax (10%) *Cough* Doesn't the US have tax? Then there's shipping. *Cough* Oh right! I forgot that games were manufactured in the US, then shipped to the rest of the world. Where's the US shipping costs? Anyway. They're the excuses used by people to justify why Aussies pay $75US for a brand new console game when in the US, they only pay $50US. [/rant] |

Then you can wait D: I'll probably have to wait for Christmas even though I want it (I want to save more, why spend all your money at once?), I'm sure you won't die because you don't have one :3 |

So I denied the trade but what if I dont get a wii
the first day? I will still get Zelda because is already preordered but not the wii, I know I wont stand having Zelda there but not being able to use it... |

Yeah. This isn't like a "I'll sell you my $250 reservation for $300" or anything like that. At least then I could see someone who's REALLY desperate paying the extra $50 to be guaranteed a system.
eBay is going to be fun that week. |

It is a superdumb idea, I'm a big gamer girl and even -I- wouldn't do that stupid trade, the full cash value is fair enough. Your friend is taking advantage of your fanboyism. Just...blah, whatever, its your games. Just think its a waste. |

They could end up getting more Wii's to give out for preordering. Or you could just buy it at a place that's not EB. :\ |
darkwitch Posts: 10/214 |
But lets say there are 10 wiis coming to
an EBGames if all 10 are preordered then they wont let me buy one if I dont have it preordered. But thanks im going to try on "Toys R Us". |
Kirbynite Posts: 1166/1334 |
Toys R Us is gonna present the second round of preorders for the Wii. So you can try to get it there.
I missed out on preordering the first time (due to the fact that I forgot to fix my alarm, of all days), so I'm gonna try to get it there. And don't panic, yo. If you can't preorder at a place with a resonable pricetag, then you could just camp out on release day. I'm sure you've got just as much of a chance of acquiring a preorder as acquiring a Wii without a preorder. |

It doesn't cost more in Puerto Rico. Not unless these places raises their prices while my back is turned. The most I have seen being added on is atleast $50 extra dollars to the US retail price.
$250 + $50 = $300 Last time I checked, we got the same prices as the US, give or take, in rare cases $50 or so. Unless that changed, I have no clue what he is talking about. Anyway, he should just check EB or Gamestop. They do exist on this island. |

Well yeah im from Puerto Rico and I
think I made a desicion to NOT make the trade and buy it in K-mart or KBToys or a store like that. Oh and as Dr_death16 stated im a fanboy and I really wont stand to not have a wii the first day. Thanks for the comments people . |

I dunno... it could be the case that it would cost more in a place like Puerto Rico. I've heard in places like Guam and Hawaii things cost up to twice as much, just b/c of the extra difficulty of shipping it. Alaska, for example, has a high cost of living, but higher wages than the continental US. But these truisms usually assume to be talking about non durable goods like groceries... I don't know if this carries into such luxuries as home electronics. A K-Mart may be very well justified in charging that much. |

It's okay guys, there's a reason we're confused. This is a fanboy who will do anything in their power to be one of the first people to get a Wii Wii. |
