You can say what you want about the cartoon versions of some of those characters, but Megaman... geeeeeez that took the cake.

Hmm, *looks it up* ...

Haha, we watched a few episodes of that last year during school. But yeah, I remember that show. And was it WEIRD. I remember I thought the brain guy thing was pretty scary when I first saw it when I was really young.

Captain N Megaman, lawls.

Well, I downloaded the whole series of the Super Mario Bros. 3 cartoon, it just fit on a single DVD+R. It's fun to watch them still,

You mean DiC. And I'm guessing that didn't go over too well or the negotiations fell apart.

Shame. I loved rushing home from school to watch Mario and the gang.

A friend of mine recently bought one of the seasons of that and the Zelda show. Oh man is it fun to get a group of friends together to watch those.

A few years ago, Cartoon Network was trying to get rights from DC to air the Super Mario Bros cartoons; I didn't follow how that went though

That's actually why I enjoy XPlay. You get to see new games and laugh at their "wtf bad graphics 2/5" rating system.

After what they did to the remnants of TechTV, I say my reaction's "ROFLisberger."

How many people actually watch the channel? Is there any ratings information available?

They really shouldn't go after that young men market because there's too many channels that do such a thing and it's hard to stand out in a crowd.

"I do agree with the vision of going after young men more than just going after gaming," Mr. Harbert said.

I had a long post prepared, but I decided to scrap it because it was too long for something I realized that could be summed up by a reaction towards a part from the article.

That explains so much why G4 has basically turned into a Spike TV. I now long for the old channel that looked so low budget.. Oh, why must G4 make their shows look expensive and edgey and hormonally charged!

Oh well.. If G4 goes down, I'll be missing XPlay and Game Makers/Icons (That Tim Schafer episode was a favorite of mine). I'll miss Brainiac too, but it's not really a gaming show..

Do the Mario!

But yeah, I do have some pity since it really is the only videogame channel out there that's been moderately successful. Without it, it seems like the whole videogame community could be hit a little bit, but maybe not. It just seems like it could be a little saddening for us further down the road.

Article.

Seems a little vague. Maybe G4 will still have its own channel and will just be under new management? But who knows, it just really seems like they're on their last threads.

Will I miss it? Probably not ... at all. Except for X-Play. But hell, they could just throw X-Play on E! and everyone will be happy.
