I meant for the older games in general. So for the PSX games, yeah, ISOs. |

It was a Playstation game. Hopefully you mean ISOs.
And why would you want to sell it? WORLD DOMINATION. |

Ugh... I certainly hope no one bids on "Rise of the Robots".
*shudders* Ooh, "Spiderman vs. Venom: Maximum Carnage", now there's a good game. Although the box lied and said it was two player, when it isn't. |

So you'd be confident enough to take Mr. Domino and sell it for all the old systems and hopefully make a profit? |

Yes, but... let's be honest... is there any MONEY to be made off any of these games?
Some people will probably buy and hope they can sell them off again one day and make a profit. |

well, you get publishing rights, so I would suppose so...else you wouldnt buy anything, after all you get the publishing rights.. |

Would they enable you to distribute the games for sale? I should call and ask, I already sounded dumb on the phone to them once. |

Yeah, occasionally Acclaim would chance into PUBLISHING a decent game (Particularly in the NES days when they published Rare and pre-Final Fantasy Square games), but I don't think they EVER DEVELOPED a good game.
Anyway, I'm, actually somewhat confused as to what owning the publishing rights to any of these would actually get you...but it'd be cool to have them regardless. |

Hmm... that'd register as a no, as far as I know. The good games on the list that I know of from Acclaim - Forsaken (not on the list, oddly), Extreme G, and XG2 (sequel to Extreme G, of course) were all developed by Probe, and just published by Acclaim, I think... and who cares about the bad games they developed? |

You'd need to find a game on that list that:
- Acclaim developed; - Doesn't use any other trademarks. Good luck. |

I could see a rich guy buying the rights just to say he owned them. |
Koneko Posts: 81/656 |
Incidentally, doesn't Acclaim look like Acmlm?
But yeah, the people/corporations buying the game rights are a little bit crazy. Resell would be a nightmare, and why else would you buy them in the first place? Ever? People are stupid. |

What are the odds half of the winning bidders turn around and sell the rights to a larger company to make a profit? Don't forget that someone would have to likely deal with whichever other properties are attached to the game... for example, I can't turn around and start selling a WWF game for some stupid reason because it's LICENSED as 90% of Acclaim's stuff was.
Wouldn't Rare hold intellectual copyright for the Wizards and Warriors series? |

Publishing Rights. That is what they are selling. |

Double Dragon for $5000...I'm a little confused . Wasn't technos which owned the rights for them?. Or were just the nes, snes and the arcade ones? These ones are the gb ones right? I don't quite understand how 2 (or in some cases, more than 2) companies own the rights for a single title |

Stupid starting bid of $5,000. |
