Where are the "try random codes until you get a cool effect" ones?
I messed around with Game Genie codes in a few NES games before and managed to find a few things, like: - SMB1: mushrooms act like stars (or the other way around), bullet bills come out of nowhere, glitched random levels - Metroid: disabled the "low energy" beeping, low pitched music But I had even more fun with RAM editing ... Both of those were even before I got into ROM hacking And I guess codes that activate hidden features (debug, etc.) or cool moves are nice too |

Poll lacking anything that lets you play beta levels/functions left out of game. |

This poll lacks so many types of codes it's not funny. Personally my favourite I suppose is ASM hacks that add functions (Item Select and the like), or physics modifiers. |
