My kittens that I have are housecats. They probably won't last long in the outdoors since they haven't been outside for nearly their entire life. My parents are worried that they'll get lost if we made them go outside. 
They're pretty lazy of course. Sometimes they like to wrestle with each other which is amusing for awhile but most of the time they are asleep.  |

My cat will run outside and get lost for a week, but if I actually let her out, she's scared stiff.  |

I have a cat who does nothing but sleep all day. I've wanted to see how she feels about outdoors, but meh...she's scared of it
I had a dog for most of my life, until it died from a skin disease a couple years ago  I heard my neighbours dogs are going to have puppies soon though, so maybe I could get one of them...maybe not.... |

I don't like small dogs. I'd be scared senseless if I wound up with a fully-grown dog that weighed less than my (very fat) cat.
Thankfully, my dogs are much bigger than that. And yes, cats can wake people up when they want to. Just ask my dad, who (back when the cats were locked in the room with them) would be regularly woken up at 6 AM by a cat purring loudly in his ear or walking up and down his side. |

Chester wakes us up on a regular basis. He flops on the pillow while I'm still using it, headbutts our heads, and tries to open drawers (and sometimes succeeds - that cat must be part raccoon because he can get into pretty much anything). Both of them will sleep very quietly with us (they usually burrow under the covers), but when Chester wants attention, we both know it. |

My dog (er, ex-dog -- she died ) would constantly jump on my bed and sleep next to me.
She never woke me up once. Not to mention, some cats very well can wake you up. =P |

I have two cats. One called Rocket (Male), and one called Princess (Female, obviously)
I also have three dogs, and while I like to play and be around all of them, I am a cat person. I just like cats more. I'm not up for the whole playful nature dogs have (Well, mine to be specific) The only problem with cats is the fact that I have ashtma so I can't keep them inside the house. But even so, I just prefer their presence than the dogs. |

I dunno where you live but in Ontario it seems most houses do not have fences. Squirrels can roam around anywhere, and while doggy door inconveniences may not be a valid reason to choose a cat they are a valid reason not to put in a door. And like I said before, small dogs just aren't the same. (Let's see a poodle save someone from drowning? ) |

Ever had a cat jump on your bed in the middle of the night and wake you up? How about a big dog?
Installing a doggy door, putting up a fence to keep the dog from roaming around, setting up some mechanism to keep other animals from getting in through it, and dealing with the heat loss through one of them isn't feasible or even possible for a lot of people (eg those who rent). In any case it's a hell of a lot more convenient to just pour some litter in a box and change it every few days. |

Cats are more space efficient. You can have your cat jump into bed with you without a problem, but if a big dog tries it, there may be some issues. Plus you don't need to get up at 3AM to let a cat out to pee.  |

I had a kitty named Charlie. Turned out I was allergic to him, so my mom got rid of him.
He was pretty screwed up in the head.... which made me love him even more. But luckily for him, he's in Seattle somewhere now, being spoiled and fattened by one of my mom's friends.  |
