Yeah, it's pretty freaky. After I learned how to play Canon in D I started noticing it everywhere. But maybe that's just because I'm insane.

Eh, first time I heard Canon in D was in Neon Genesis Evangelion years ago.

I have it on a playlist that I casually listen to when bored.

Edit: Mind you, it wasn't a chord progression, it was all the notes of it.

I just noticed that a large number of songs from Love Hina use the Canon in D chord progression.

I bet if you listened closely, you could hear Canon in D in almost EVERY anime which has at least one song in a major key. Hell, forget anime, it's everywhere.
