Ah, Mario Party for the Wii.... Sounds decent enough to happen, but what would be good about it? What could change it for the better? And before you read, note that I know that Hudson Soft develops the games, and not Nintendo.

*Tons of mini-games that rely on skill. I miss games like Locked Out from MP3 that were pure skill, now we're getting these "pick a rope, with a 1/4 chance of getting first place" mini-games that don't even make sence.

*Something unique. Party 1 had Mini-game Stadium, 2 had Costumes to match the board achetype, 3 had Duel Mode, 4 had 1-player Mini-games, 5 had Robot Battles, 6 had the Mic, and 7 had Eight-player Mini-games. The Wiimote might most likely fit into this catagory, but something else would be nice.

*NO PETEY PIRANHA! Somehow, Nintendo finds a way to get this little bastard into every cameo game. Please keep the characters the way they are. If anything, bring back Donkey Kong as a playable character, we miss him.

*And please kill Toadsworth. I don't wanna hear some old guy say, "Capital! What an excellent choice!" and stuff like that, I actually miss Toad as a non-playable character.

Sorry if the read's a little dull, I wrote it at 1:38am.

I liked MP1 and 2 best... MP1 because of the Co-Op minigames mostly. I also miss the bonusblocks you could buy...
MP2 was awesome because at the end of the board there were always these end-sequences and they were quite funny.
I wonder why there is no 1 vs. 3 Game which is like Hexagon Heat from MP2 just that the 1 player has to show the color of the flag... (correct me if it does turn up in MP4 and after; I don't know those)

Am I the only one who think s that the boards on the Mario Party games for the N64 were bigger than the ones for GC?

Really, some of them (MP4) were just crap, but some of them had some good points to them. MP1 had the team minigames, MP6 had the microphone, which was nice, and MP7 had the 8-player minigames. MP2 had the costumes and some good minigames, and MP5 had those super cart things, they were definitely fun, though the arenas were a bit small.

Less luck, more skill.

I stopped after MP2. Mostly because of money issues, but... MP2 just seemed to be the climax of the series.

MP1 was damn good!
And then it slowly started declining...
Maybye MP8 will bring the series back up again, seeing as it's most likely a Wiimote enhanced game. Some of the minigames were good in the newer GCN games, like Granite Getaway in MP6. I had so much fun playing that one...

If it's for the wii, the party is saved.

I dunno, I agree with Darkdata and Sukasa...mini-game island was hella fun in the first one. The latest ones just lack creativity...they need to stop the series now and make something else I guess

In Mario Party 6, you can set the turn limit to any multiple of 5 in the 10-50 range IIRC. Don't know about MP7 though.

The... party. With the... with the pants. Mario Party with pants?

I'm all for 4P co-op games, robbing other players, but maybe a better balance between fun and length. Whenever we'd play, we'd just get bored before the end, but the other game lengths are too short.

Longer minigames, and lots of them.
I just cant stand 5 seconds of real gameplay with 20 seconds of loading.

More minigames where huge stacks of money is at stake. Remember Grab Bag and Bash'n Cash from the original, where people could steal money from each other? Where did they go?

And of course, less luck-based crap. Less complicated boards would be nice as well - many of these new games have large boards with an extreme amount of ways to go, and a lot of events no one wants to play since they're so expensive. 30 coins to bring all the other characters to that space? Yeah, that's always worth it. Less cheap items would be nice too - or at least give us the option of turning off that stupid magic lamp. Mario Party 1 had buyable feature dice you could enable or disable - what happened to those?

I like Mario Party 2 and Mario Party 5 the best of all those games but the newest ones arenīt that bad either. Like the mic function in Mario Party 6. That quiz in which you use the mic was awesome and very fun, even though one felt like tossing the mic through a window when it hears wrong.

I donīt remember all features of the new games because I havenīt played them for a while.

They should definitely have a mic quiz in the next Mario Party Game. And they could gather the most popular boards from all Mario Party games for the new game. Iīm not really a fan of only playing mini-games, though.

Less luck based mini-games.

Seriously, I loved the first Mario Party... but when we bought the first Gamecube one it was a disapointment. Some of the mini-games were just bland.
