saw it half an hour ago. The movie was awesome. Incredible visuals, great writing, excellent acting and it was nearly spot on to the book. I like it better that LOTR (and I know that statement is going to get me in trouble).

I didn't like it. It seemed too fantastic and hard to follow to be enjoyable, and seemed like an inferior Lord of the Rings. That's what Disney said; "LotR got such great reviews! We can do something like this..." and adapted "Narnia" into a poorly thrown together movie. Good plot. Terrible execution. Disnification sucks on action movies like this (except for PotC. I liked that very much)

Great movie. Easy and smooth scene transitions which makes it a lot more bearable for those not willing to sit through long ass movies.

The battle was awesome. And I can't get over Anna Popplewell(Susan Pevensie) who, even while being not focused on a whole lot, was hot.

Saw it, thought it was okay. it wasn't bad, but I don't seem myself watching it again anytime soon. And that whole "Santa" deal, was a bit over the top.

Plus, all the books are short, so you could read one a day, and be done with them next week. But ha, who reads books? Moms and geeks, that's who.

In terms of readability I'd definitely say the chronicles of narnia win over the Lord of the Rings. If you have some spare time I'd recommend all the books in the series (seven of them).

I haven't read any of the books, my mum has a copy of them all I believe, but I just haven't had time to read it. I've seen a very old and very corny movie of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe .. the special effects didn't thrill me though.
I've seen part of the trailer for the new movie and I have to say it looks like its going to be a very cool movie. I am really looking forward to it.

Ok, to set some things straight here, the Magician's nephew is the first book chronologically it is however, not the first book written for the series. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is. They are making the movies in the order the books were written, not the chronological order.
I have not seen the movie yet, but I plan to soon. And I also cannot wait for the Voyage of the Dawn Treader. That is my favorite book ever.

Sorry to bump the thread, but I wanted to post in an existing thread rather than form a new one. I just saw this movie this afternoon, and let me say this, it was a magnificient piece of work, there was nothing that felt superfluous to the storyline, and it truly captured the essence of Lewis' original work, really, I encourage you to go see this movie if you enjoyed the book, it is truly worth the experience, and if they wish to make more movies on the book, I can only hope they are as stellar as this one.

So the kids died? Awesome. Maybe I'll see it.

Spoiler:
No, Aslan did, and then he totally kills Jadis. LOLLOLOLOLOLOLOL

I won't deny my history. But I'm past all that now. Why can't these damn kids grow up?

Someone's got some angst against kids. =o
Remember, you were a kid yourself. YOU ARE TAINTED.

Am I the only one who was really pissed off by the kids???!?!?! Maybe I just hate kids. In fact, I think that's it. It's hard for me to watch movies that star kids, because kids are suckers. Muppet Treasure Island would have been perfect except for that dumb kid. Man, kids ruin everything.

And british kids are the worst.

Oh, man.

Maybe I'll watch this movie if the kids get trapped in a fire and die.

I just found out, the actress who played the borg queen in Star Trek First Contact is going to be the Ice Witch. Man, I hope they pull this off right, it looks awesome. I do wonder why they skipped the first book though. I do want to see Voyage Of The Dawn Treader on the big screen.

The movie thats going to be in theaters in december is actually the part of the second book and they skipped the first book. I could be wrong.

I read the Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe for English clas in 5th grade... totally forgot what it was about though. I thought they already made a movie from the book. Making a second one??

I saw a preview. The kids looked annoying. I don't think I'll be able to enjoy the movies if I want to drop-kick the heroes the whole way through.

Besides, Magician's Nephew was the best one ;o

I recall the name a long time ago but forgot what it was all about. It doesn't seem to make any sense... the LION, the WITCH, and the WARDROBE?

the movie has a book.... that's classic

it's sad that there are people that haven't heard of the Chronicles of Narnia....

and it's even more sad that these people haven't read these books.
