The sprites works??? |

Yes, layer priority is enabled...
Whatever, it's not that important for me. If anybody answeres it, thanks. I even added vertical fireballs to the level, so now it's a bit challenging |

1) perhaps that sprite doesn't work in vertical levels
2) is Layer priority enabled on the lava? |

Thanks a lot, it worked
Now I have still 2 more questions: 1) Why didn't Layer 2 Rise up work? 2) When Mario dies because of the lava, he appears in front of it. It actually already happened before. What can I do against that? |

I have once get this to work, but this one has the following problem:
1. you should use LAYER 2 FALLS, but not LAYER 2 RISES WHEN TOUCHED. Put the lava on layer 1 and other stuff on Layer 2, put a Layer 2 falls sprite somewhere in the lower part of the level(note the game will change the Layer 2 init position and the layer 2 may not be in the correct position, you may need to try several times) then set both horizontal and vertical Layer 2 scroll to none. 2. Sprites won't work, even generators. 3. The screen goes up very slowly. 4. There is no ASM code to get a perfect upward-scrolling effect(downward is aviliable, though) |

I have it on 08, because I use a vertical level. |

Hmm. Try setting the snes register/level mode to 02. |

I once tried it with having a small layer 2 floor, but still nothing happens. Just, when you stand still on that floor, Mario vibrates |

I made a similar level. Your best bet is to use sprite EA where Y=1. This way layer 2 will be constantly rising and falling. If that's not what you want, just place sprite F5 (Layer 2 rise when touched) at Y=0. I'm just throwing it out there, though. But remember, if you want the lava to rise when layer 2 is touched, you'll need some actual land on layer 2, because Mario obviously can't stand on lava. |

I have a lava level, and I'd like to have some lava rising. I put lava on layer 2, and used the "Rise Layer 2 when touched", but it somehow doesn't work. Nothing rises.
And I see in Level 1E2 that it works there well... I tried using autoscroll without Layer 2 Vertical Scroll too, but somehow it didn't work either. Could anybody help me out? Thanks in advance |
