Originally posted by Yoshi Dude It's a little slower, but not nearly slow really. Like, I can water tons of crops, go find this lady I'm trying to woo, give her presents, gather herbs/grasses/etc, AND if I wanted, go dig in the mines! The only thing I hated about the SNES one was if you went to bed later...like anytime after 7, it'd cut some of your hours off, but not so in this one. I love it! And yeah, I guess progressive is the word. Except, the only ones you can have "best friends" with are the Harvest Goddess herself, the Witch Princess, the princess of the mines - 255 floors down , and the mermaid. XD Lawl. |

A friendship ceremony?!?
Well, at least it's nice to know that they're progressive. |

Its a lot like that in most Harvest Moon games, I noticed it a lot in 64 especially when you had even more to get done...but once you get a lot of the big things out of the way, it becomes so much easier to manage time (for example, once you get a greenhouse, you can take literaly all the time you want to water and tend to crops--time dosn't pass in doors. it leaves a huge chunk of your day wide open) |

What really bugged me about the SNES Harvest Moon (the only one I've gotten into) was how time went by too quickly. I couldn't just relax, explore, and figure out what I was going to do, I always had to be running around with a goal in mind. What's the pacing of this game like? |

yeah seriously! XDDDD
You farm, gather things, make friends with the townsfolk, AND MARRY HOT CHICKS how can you say there's nothing to do!? XD in the girls version, which is still in Japan, instead of a husband, you can opt for a " best friend *coughGIRLFRIENDcough*" but you have to get the BIG BED and expand your house and then you have a "friendship ceremony" XD I perosnally think it is amazing. |

Dull? theres like a million and a half things to do in every game theres never a dull moment, especially if you work to get a full game (everyone liking you, all obtainables, perfect evaluation...theres so much you can do Dx) |

The GBA games were a disappointment mainly because of how gimmicky and poorly done they were. I played the original Playstation version of the game more times than I can remember and the GBA one was, in my mind, quite a disappointment. It was done poorly, and was just...really gimmicky. If anything, they need to port Harvest Moon 64 to the DS and give it some upgrades D: that was and always will be the best of the series. I love it love it love it <3 I'm not sure if I want to pick up the DS one or not. We'll see. (probably will because I'm too much of an HM freak not to at least try it ><) |

The Harvest Moon games can be very addictive because the gameplay is so easy to pick up. You farm... check your animals... go to town... do some side quests... and so on. Obviously it gets more complex the more you get into the game, but it's very simple to get into. |

No. Just, no.
My friend at work is ~so~ into this series. I laugh at him..and then he beats me up. So then I give him less hours....lol...anyway, the only sim that I really like is Sims...and I even tire of that. I mean, all I do is build a hour and then burn it down with the guy inside...is that so wrong? HM is just too cherry and cheery for me, sorry. But this guy, he has so many hours put into the game, its not even funny anymore. |

So, I don't know how many of you actually are addicted to this farming sim like me, but I LOVE the new one out for DS, and I'm just kind of appalled at the latest reviews and stuff for it and the dismissal that the graphics are the same as the GBA versions.
It's definitely the best Harvest Moon I've played since the original SNES ones. Then again, I could say I'm biased since I love the SNES feel of GBA/DS games. At any rate, I really like it and I think you should all go get it since it's a fantastic way to pass the time when you have some free time and not much else to do. |
