Well... It has exactly ONE problem, and it's major. This unit is unable to access all brands and sizes of Memory Stick Pro Duo! Meaning no firmware changes (has 2.6 from the factory), saving game progress, photos/music/videos, etc. I've ruled out problems with the flash memory itself. Both work in Windows XP, tranferring data both directions fine.

The PSP's access light flashes whenever any card is inserted. On USB, WinXP recognizes it as a drive with no disk either way. I'm trying to figure out my best option. Official servicing seems like the most likely so far. A replacement motherboard might do if I learn how to install it. With the outrageous price of functional used systems, I'd rather get new in that case. Any ideas? I've already bought and finished the storyline of Disgaea 2 to stave off frustration, I'm now into Dragon Quest VIII's early-on waterfall cave.
