I briefly skimmed the article, and I agree with one of the things it said--DVD players in various forms are incredibly common--I think I have 4 if you count the PS2 and computers in my house. I don't need another one in the Wii, particularly if it'll keep the price down. Good for Nintendo! |

I would definitely reserve if you have to have the system. I wish I had the money to do so. |

You have problems overseas..
Here, I just call them after the first announcement, that I want to reserve a game specific devise or media, and then it'll be written down. Those wich reserve first, get it first (FIFO). So I'll get a Wii for sure. |

If a store takes reserves, probably low unless you live in an area where video game stores aren't that busy. If it doesn't take reserves, then it's quite possible but the earlier you show the better.
I *could* have gotten a 360 at launch if I wanted since I saw two stores that had units left, surprisingly. I could have gotten a dozen PSP's at launch. |

I live in Puerto Rico.
I have yet to reserve a Wii. Sales Tax (7%) begins November 15th. There are only three EB Games close to where I live (read: less than 50 km away). *Odds of Cirvante obtaining a Wii this Christmas season: 1 in 9,654,728 |

It depends on how many consoles Nintendo makes and how many your store is allotted versus how many they reserve.
But overall, I'd say very, very low. |

That sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.
I don't know of any place around here taking reserves for it. |

There's a lot of places around me taking reserves for the Wii and the Ps3....but they have no idea how many units they're going to get into their store. |

$50? I'm guessing the GameCube itself doesn't equal $50... and I don't think I have a game I'd be willing to give up to get to that price. |

Originally posted by Tanks ...yea, so I read an e-mail the other day and it mentioned that they were running a test in Hawaii. An odd test and honestly, at first, I didn't think it was true. The test that they were running was: you can only trade in $50 worth of stuff to be able to reserve the system................. ... .. ....wow. |

Not sure how the points work. So if you buy like 1000 points for 10$ then you can like download them and put them on the system. Does anybody know how it actually works. |

...Who cares about the DVD playback? Seriously. DVD players are dirt cheap and most people already have a player or a DVD drive. |

Originally posted by HyperHackerBoo-hoo, DVD players are so expensive nowdays. *cough* Seriously, I didn't even know there was any DVD playback planned so i'm not really disapointed and I acutally prefer using a seperate DVD player for it. :/ I'm not really a fan of the all-in-one solution since it's also "all-breaks-at-once" as my parents refer it as. And honestly, Region locking dosen't affect 95% of the people anyway. I usually don't like to hassle with importing stuff and rather wait. :/ |

No DVD playback either. |

I wonder if region locking means Australians will get lumped in with Europe or treated as our own little leper colony.
Meh, fuck it, I'm just importing Twilight Princess for my American Gamecube and waiting a few months for the Wii, I think. That region-locking thing is a huge downer, even if I did manage to get the wi-fi connection going. |
