think ill just mess around with a hex editor and see what i get and maybe ill find the stages in hex then copy sonic 2 betas hidden palace zone and paste it over sonic 2 finals hidden palace zone, or just turn it into a different stage. maybe ill mess with sonic 3, to find all of tails' actions in hex and add his abilities to fly and carry sonic to sonic 2 final and see what i get but where in a hex editor can i find the hidden palace zone in sonic 2 beta and final,
tails' ability to fly and carry sonic in sonic 3

To truly restore HPZ, you'll need to do several things.
Lazy method: (discouraged if you can do the better methods, but easiest)
1. Get a savestate of HPZ from S2Beta
2. Load a Sonic 2 ROM (make backups if you have stuff done already) in SonED on Hidden Palace.
3. Load the HPZ Savestate's 16x16, 8x8, and 128x128 data in SonED.
4. Save said data to the ROM.

So, now you have the GFX, but not the solidity. Sonic 2 Beta's solidity data will work on Sonic 2 I think (it might need to be compressed, I'm not sure). Put that in by hand and change the pointers.

Check out hacking cult (sorry no url but if you google it, it should come up) It should have all the tools and some information that should help you along the way.

i know that you can change the graphics with a hex editor but the only thing i want to know is using a hex editor to find the graphics from sonic 2 beta's hidden palace zone, copy and paste it over sonic 2 final's hidden palace. i already have 2 hex editors. translhextion, and
Esrael Sonic Editor II.

TLP is of no help in the subject, actually. The graphics are compressed, and even if they weren't, without the proper solidity data, they don't help at all.

This isn't really the best place to ask about this... Most people have little experience with the games. I'd suggest looking around S2Beta or the like. They know what they're doing in those games more than we do, especially since they focus on them.

Esrael has a convertor that will convert Sonic 3&K savestates to Sonic 2 savestates on his site (its also part of one of the ESE versions), however, you'll have to take the tiles, 16x16s, 128x128s, and solidity data from the savestates by hand, compress them, and insert them into the ROM with a hex editor.
For Sonic 1 it's a bit harder... Esrael has a convertor that can convert the mappings, but the solidity data must be done by hand, and not every tile has a perfect match.
Games other than those Sonic games almost always will require you to redraw the graphics by hand in SonED.

He didn't say levels, he said graphics. He said that he knew how to edit levels. Which means, his problem is TLP is too confusing.

I'm sorry I can't give you a faq but I did figure out how to do that when I was a newb. It can be done easily with both editors. Keep at it and guess. I'm sure you can figure it out.

No, get sonED 1 or esreal. hes a newb so working with sonED 2 might be hard for him since it deals with save states. I think that you should get one the editors I suggested and import levels from other roms. You'll have to work with them but you should get the hang of it.

Trust me...I tried all of these before and I had no idea on them...and as you know I am not a noob lol...

I think SonED2 does have a solidity editor, but it can be a bit daunting for the newer hackers...

I think you mean disassemblies, not savestates.

How about you go and get a tile editor, and read a tutorial like the rest of us. We are not here to teach you, only post when you are very stuck on something.
