Yeah, I follow Apple and Macintosh news to the day now. I ever read the live feeds of all the Stevenotes on Engadget :-P

Chad got herself a iMac G5 17" last year, and I've fallen in love with it.

January rolled around, and so did Macworld. I had my iMac Core Duo 20" delivered barely two weeks after Macworld!

So yeah, I love it to bits. The 24" is utterly gorgeous, the screen, the graphics hardware, the new Core 2 Duo cpu... So lovely...

The new iTV looks very nice as well.

Here's a desk shot:

I have an iPAQ Pocket PC. Music, internet, MSN Messanger, solitare. For music, I have a 1gb SD card. That holds more than enough music, and even some cartoons (cause Bugs Bunny is that damn funny).

You know, a Nintendo DS costs about $130. A 4GB CF card costs maybe $100-$150. GBA Media Player and Max Media Launcher both cost $20. That totals $270 to 320 for something that plays more music formats and better games than iPod with 4GB of storage. (Obviously you could go for a smaller card if it fits your needs.)

Besides, you can't use Windows programs on it (LM, a lot of emus, and of course, PC games.) I prefer the UI of Windows and PCs.

Then why are you posting off-topic in the thread? This thread is obviously about Apple....

Oh, they released iTunes 7.0 and the 1.2 firmware update for 5G iPods today. Aside from a bunch of neat features like downloading album covers, purchasing movies (US only) and an updated interface... THEY HAVE GAMES. *_*

I don't care for most of the 9 games available now, mind you, but I would *love* Tetris and Pac-Man for my iPod.

With PC, I assume you people mean IBM PC clones*.

Becuse, as far I know Macintosh and even Lisa is PC's too.

*(I start using that term now when Macintosh runs on X86 processors now...)

I think it's because you have to yell over all the PC "fans".

Possibly

Actually, I think they're just fairly outspoken.

Why Apple users can be so outspoken and such I don't know....

I'm still using the same PC as when I joined Acmlm board with. xD I'm getting tired on it though...

I like big screens though...

...1,999 USD? I get alot more in the IBM PC clone family for the same amount.

Edit: On the other hand, it's probably the monitor that makes it so costly...

I don't know how that's really possible for them to do it more often than anyone else really. I just think Apple users complain louder

Yeah, but I mean Apple does it often.

Well, technically so do any companies that upgrade their product line

I'm just slightly miffed it happened to be right after work purchased an iMac and I purchased a Mac Mini.

My ideal computer, (the most expensive mother f'n AlienWare, which I'll buy when I hit the lotto) would probably be outdated the day after I buy it, so your not alone.

As for DOA crap, the most annoying thing I've had is a flat panel with a dead pixel, on the taskbar in Windows. Not to annoying, but I see it everyday.

HA! Just give me a newer mobo for my OG G3 iMac (350 MHz slot-loader, if you must know) and I'll be all set. That and a slot-loading DVD-RW.

(pets the slightly damaged, but nonetheless worthwhile Indigo model)

Yeah, it has a line that intermittently appears down the screen. I don't blame Apple... DOA hardware failures can happen to any company. It's a fact that there are occasionally bad batches of components that wind up in various manufacturer's products (Sony Batteries, anyone?), and stuff like that. But it does annoy me though... more how long a local business here is taking to warranty the damned thing (again, not Apple's fault; but my colleagues can't tell that). It's apparently video ram on the logic board.

I don't necessarily want to convert my colleagues into rabid mac fans, but I would much rather see them not bashing it based on a stupid hardware glitch, and their own weird misconceptions about Macintoshes.

I'd like to convert them into well-rounded IT individuals who are willing to work with other operating systems besides Windows. Or at the very least, I'd like to convince them that the Mac will not fangoriously rip their arm off.

If they join the Cult on the way... It's just cause that 20" iMac is so pretty

Oh I want one... so very badly. I have a 20" Cinema Display, but the idea of having a glorious 24" screen with a nice, happy fast Mac.... I want....

Curse you, Apple.

Well that is bad.
Though I guess you could get work to get another one after a while

I'm also annoyed cause the 20" one was a D.O.A warranty Screen issues -- memory on logic board is bad.

I reckon Apple should give us a free upgrade

But I doubt work will buy a new Macintosh any time soon. They're not very... Mac... savvy yet. They have not yet succumbed to the Cult of Mac. But soon... yes... soon They'll come around to my way of thinking

Still... dammit Apple... I can't afford that 24" piece of hardware yumminess...

EDIT: AWWWWW GOD FUCKING DAMMIT APPLE WHYYYYYYYYY And I just bought a Mac Mini, too
