Ooh, here's another one. When you do collision detection against a group of polygons in 3D, make sure you're adding the coordinates of the group as a whole to those of the polygons. (Doesn't help when one of the groups is at (0,0,0), making the routine appear to work some times but not others.) |

So guys, you wanna do my math work for me?

I never paid much attention in math class, and now whenever I do 3D work I wish I had. I'm good at math in general but since I didn't really learn the formulas I always have trouble with trigonometry and it takes me a little while to remember how to do some things like algebra. I guess I'll just have to see if I can take a similar class in college. |

I used to plug away through the complex stuff and then make the dumbest mistakes. I'd be working out some triple integral, it'd simplify to "9+4" and then I'd write "15" or something like that. Luckily, that class's prof gave written exams instead of multiple choice so I'd still get most of the marks when I did that. |

I always got FOIL until they put dang square roots with it. But the worst thing I did was used Distance Formula instead of Midpoint Formula on a couple of problems. |

such basic math here in this thread...
Tatrion's t=(2(j-14)/(105d) spel werdz rite: Do you have some other equation for a system? Else you would be stuck with x(ax^2+bx+c)=d and finally xk's math: 4x x^2+4x+4 x^2+6x+9 16x |

Dude... no. The cubic equation is not something you wish on people. Much less to have them post it on the board. |

Okay, now solve for x mister "I beg to differ!"
0=ax³+bx²+cx+d (I'm afraid to know what this thread will turn into) |

So... solve for t and leave the answer in terms of d and j...
As for mis-FOILing, shame Xk. Shame to the distributive property D: |
Tatrion Posts: 1882/2467 |
You know what's REALLY bad?
"j = -5/4t * 2.1d + 14. What does t equal"? I mean what the HELL, there's too many letters |

Yes, Tarale, that's what it is.
Also I don't know what I would do if I forgot how to algebra. Probably go all emo. |

You don't need to shapeshift. Just do it for the courses that have very large sections and sit in the back. Chances are they're not going to call you on it. Especially if the person you're impersonating only goes to class to get the syllabus and take tests. |
MathOnNapkins Posts: 768/1106 |
One of these days when I learn how to shape shift I'm going to make big $$$ taking people's math exams for them . |

I wonder why?
4x x²+4x+4 x²+6x+9 16x Math is the only uae I serve in life |
