BMUP

i read somewhere(newspaper) that irwin would have survived if he left the barb in his heart. something about how pulling it out damaged his heart even more because of how the thing is jagged.

seriously, though. the fact that he was able to PULL A BARB OUT OF HIS HEART makes him a TOTAL BADASS.

Yeah, true. Same kind of logic there...

Ugh, people are so stupid.

It appears to be human nature. See also: war on Iraq.

I like how their idea of retribution is doing something which would no doubt sicken Irwin.

STFU we might kill them all and he might come back to life!

God logic no?

It honestly makes me laugh that people are doing this and being "cowards."

I couldn't see actively searching for the video of his death, but to be honest, if I saw it posted somewhere, I'd probably watch it, even knowing that I'll probably wish I hadn't afterwards. Call it morbid curiousity I guess.

But, like the audio of Timothy Treadwell being killed by a bear, I doubt the footage will ever make it to the general public. Which is probably a good thing. I did read a news article though, that gave a basic description of what happened in the footage. And, no, he didn't die instantly.

Aww man. That news ruined my weekend.
And just for all those people who wanted a crock to kill him...
He is WAY too fast on land, so NOTHING alive on land could have killed him that way. Only in the sea, could he be killed... and he did.

It might be... would be an odd coincidence if it wasn't.

And now I'm in the mood to play something in the motorsport vein.

Peter Brock was nicknamed Peter Perfect because of his record on the track. He is considered one of Australia's greats in Motorsport.

I don't know if the nickname has any relation to Wacky Races.

Taryn: Voila.

Number 9: The Turbo Terrific, driven by Peter Perfect - a jock (he had a crush on Penelope, so often stopped to help) driving a drag racer that often falls to bits.

Oh, and you already had your three... good. :\ Hope for good news now.

Not sure what "Wacky Races" nickname means, but Peter Brock's been named "Peter Perfect" for probably some thirty years now. And probably King of the Mountain for almost as long.

As for threes.. we've had Steve Irwin, Colin Thiele, and Peter Brock. That's three.

If there's only one copy of the video and if it's been destroyed, then it's not going to be out there (and I hope that ends up as the case).

Taryn: You know that famous deaths tend to come in threes, right? Hope that's not the case... I'd hate to start a death pool but I'd guess a politician's next. But to make it sound better... a corrupt politician.

...and they gave Brock a Wacky Races nickname?

It doesn't surprise me actually Not at all.

I posted this in the Entertainment forum too, but we lost another great Aussie this week (well, we lost several).

We lost Peter Brock in a car accident; a crash in a rally.

Peter Brock won't mean much to people outside of Australia, but inside of Australia he will be greatly missed, at least as much as Steve Irwin. All I can think is that both my grandfather and father would both be saddened by this news if they were alive

It also is interesting to note that thats' been two very highly loved and respected Aussies to die this week -- both doing what they love. It's been argued that Irwin was very likely to suffer an accidental death related to animals; but I don't think anybody had ever speculated that "Peter Perfect", the King of the Mountain would die in a car accident

So, interesting phenomenon, apparently alot of people out there are actively seeking the video of his death.

Now, yes, I suppose curiosity about death, especially the death of a celebrity, is natural, but it still seems a bit ghoulish how seem people are scouring the 'net for said video.

I'm suprised actually that the video hasn't been put on MSNBC. They seem to put every other horrible thing that happens in the world on the news nowadays.
