Level grinding is why I couldn't stand Maple story. RO was somewhat fine on private servers, and games like Kingdom of Loathing makes levelling fun at least.

I mostly play on the etwilightRO server and openTTD online nowdays. openTTD is being quite relaxing and rewarding to play so 95% i'm playing that now. >>

I actually picked it up about a month ago. Level 10 Hume Windurstian Black Mage Ahdamant from Asura at your service.

I forgot to mention PangYa! It's a golf MMO. You can do things completely unrealistic, like launching a tomohawk golf ball or using medieval weaponry as clubs, but it's pretty fun.

By normal rates, do you mean 1/1/1 or something? I can't even have much fun on a 5/5/5 server. I just couldn't take all the constant grinding... hell, I can't get much past 95 on the server I do play. =\

RO, pretty much.

My question... how the fuck do people manage to get addicted to MMOs? Seriously, I'm one who gets addicted rather easily, and RO just isn't addictive to me at all.

At the moment I am playing Maple Story, but I've played RO, UO, EQ, WoW, Lineage 2, Guild Wars, and Runescape. For a free MMORPG, Maple Story is definitely worth checking out.

The only MMORPG I've played that I thought actually had potential was DAoC. Too bad it never really caught on.

Just Mario Kart: DS really. And I don't go online all that often anyways.

Counter-Strikeource
-I play it to piss people off, doing such antics as wallhacking, god mode, gravity changes and if other myg0ts are online, I tea-party the game with clan members. We kill off anyone who isn't in our clan (even if they are on our team), then jump on eachother to waste time.

StarCraft Broodwar
-You can catch me playing money maps and zero clutter in the eastern portal.

I played Halo 2 until my live account expired and I didn't have money to renew. Now I play Warcraft III.

I have and still play many games online. Some of them are Final Fantasy XI, Battlefield II, Ragnarok Online, WarCraft III: The Frozen Throne, F.E.A.R., Guild Wars, Unreal Tournament 2004, StarCraft, Diablo II: LoD, Call of Duty 2, Quake III, Quake II, Quake, World of WarCraft, Age of Empires III: The Age of Kings, Gun Bound, and Command and Conquer Generals. There are many more that I have played, but those are the ones I can remember playing online for more than two hours at a time. I like to play lots of games, but surprisingly, it isn't my life. =P

For a while now, online MMORPGs have been my thing. I just love them! I play Final Fantasy XI most of the time, but if I'm bored, I'll play Battlefield II and Ragnarok Online (I play on a private server, so I don't have to worry about losing money by not playing. XD).

I just love Final Fantasy XI so much because it's the only MMORPG that seems to require some degree of skill. I'll probably say something different when I reach max level and get the gear I'm looking for, though. I'm really good at these sort of games, so I'm usually the focus of the party. My Life Bonder or Warrior in Guild Wars was, as well as my Warlock on World of WarCraft. I haven't tried the PVP in FFXI yet, but I pretty much win most of my fair 1vs1 or 1vs2 battles in Guild Wars or World of WarCraft.

Whenever I play an MMORPG, I'm always playing as a female character, so I'm not running around with the Zidane screen name. Most people are just quick to assume that I am a female, but occasionally I'd get the guy who asks what sex I am. I don't answer, and they, just like the others, just assume I'm a girl, lol. My reasoning was that if I play as a female and I keep my sex in question, I could avoid stupid conversation or people who would hit on me. I'm not sure if it works, though, because I still get stupid conversations and guys still hit on me (ewww)! =/ Really, I just think I like being a girl, lol.

I see that some of you play Final Fantasy XI. Which server do you play on? I play on the Pandemonium server as Celira. Maybe we could all play some time (It doesn't even have to be Final Fantasy XI).

City of Heroes.

I've tried EQ2 and SWG, but CoH is the only online game that has me coming back for more. I've been playing CoH for about a year and a half now (actually, its hard to remember since I play it all the time).

I am, its simple. You can solo if you want, you don't have to worry about armor breaking, and unless you really want to, you don't have to make items and the likes.

Two of my toons are in an all girl Supergroup (guild) which is in the top 50 SGs. (We do have a few guys in our SG, but they're more like pets for us. )

I actually prefer turn based strategy. RTS games these days are usually just exercises in micromanagement rather than contests of will and superior strategy. Screw that.

Anybody here into RTS's? For alooong time that used to be the only type of online PC games I would play, since there was nothing like it on consoles. I started on Starcraft, moved to Warcraft 2, then Command & Conquer (which I didn't like at all) then Age of Empires, then Warcraft 3.

That is my current fave online RTS. But overall my fave online game would have to be WoW. Yes, a lot of people take it way too seriously, and it does require a healthy time investment. But when you join a fun-loving helpful Guild, things can be very very fun.

What you fail to account for, sir, is that a great many people find high-level play and doing their best to win to be great fun. If you want purely casual matches, the solution is easy. Play with your friends.
