How many mines did you have in that game? |

I just beat Minesweeper yesterday for the first time in a while... needless to say, I felt quite accomplished. |

Ok, here's the version of Klondike that I play:
Three cards, no undos, infinite redeals. I went on strategy search spree, and collected all the secrets of the game. So basically I'm playing as perfect as you can play (Unless you are a computer with eight brains that can calculate each possibility). So, on average, I win 1 out of 20 games... That'd mean that if I was betting, I would lose $6 of every $100 with optimal play, not very profitable. Anyway, there are like 15 basic rules (Not so basic as they are large) you must follow if you want success, but I consider the secret of beating Klondike Solitaire (the one that comes with your Windows) not a very exciting one: Only play the Aces and the Deuces to the foundations inmediately, but not the others! For example, if you have the Ace, 2 and 3 of hearts, only play the Ace and the Deuce, but keep the 3 on the tableu. Why? Because if you play it along, and the 2 of spades appears, you don't have where to put it and it gets buried, but if you keep the 3 of hearts there, it can catch it, so when the Ace of Spades appear, you can move up the 2 and then the 3 (If you don't need it as catcher anymore). You must do this with all cards, not moving them to the foundation directly, but trying to tactisize it. And that's the secret of Solitaire Too hard to follow? Then just remember this trick: Don't move a 3 to the foundation until you have all Aces there, then don't move the 4s until you have all 2s there, and so on. This only trick multiplies your chances of winning by 3! But don't get too excited about it, if actually you win 1 out of 300 games, now you can win 3 out of 300, or 1 out of 100, so don't expect this trick alone to beat klondike everytime, unless you are god, but you will notice you win more often, in the long run. And that's about it. |

I never knew that Minesweeper had a cheat code until now.
Interesting. |

Originally posted by INSERT COIN I tried to cheat Minesweeper once. I can't remember the keypress thing though, but I didn't like it. It's too hard to see the 1 pixel that dies in the top corner of your computer screen at a cinema display resolution I forgot the keypress thing to enable that cheat (I'm sure it's on the Wikipedia article though) but I'm unlikely to do that again. I wouldn't be happy with an "empty" victory over the software... |

I cheat minesweeper too. Im not a very patient player so I like to cheat. Besides, they are Microsoft products, so they deserve to be cheated. |

I make wrong guesses at the end, but not cause I'm pissed off.... just cause I am unable to eliminate anything using anything but.. guessing... as opposed to knowing.. |

I like Minesweeper too but occasionally I'll get ever so pissed at the game when I make the wrong guess in the end stages. Logic, logic... |

I've only defeated Freecell once, and that was with a lot of luck. I then got into trying to beat Solitare on Vegas. Then, I got into Bejeweled again. Bejeweled Pwns! |

Once Freecell is conquered, I consider going to spider solitare to be the next level in the solitaire family of games |

Freecell <3
I, likewise, tried the "beat the games in order in lieu of doing actual work", in one of my high school classes. Didn't get far, relatively speaking. I think I got through like 50 games or so. |

KWinCheat, including a program that plays Solitaire for you. Works by looking at the screen. Written by Ken Silverman, the Build Guy. |
