For the first game, it sounds like it's either Wizardry or Wizardry II: The Knight of Diamonds. If it's either of those games, it's probably Wizardry II. They're both DnD styled, have a first person battle system, and made to make you game over. No, really, as it's based off of DnD, things are completely random and there is spell failure. Fail a ressurection spell and one of your characters are permanently dead. If you play this game, you will die. A lot. You'll be spending hundreds of hours trying to beat this thing.

Dinosaur evolving sounds quite a lot like E.V.O. . As for the first game, it sounds pretty bad ;P.

None of the Ultima games do that. Fights aren't in 1st person either...

While we're talking about Ultima though... Ultima VII for PC. Best Game Ever? Very possible.

One of the Ultimas, perhaps?

It would have to be DW based on the first two points but the last two make absolutely no sense. :\ There aren't that many NES games which satisfy the first two points.

I've got LOTS of NES roms... And if it's not Dragon Warrior then I'd need to sit down and start playing all of them to even make a guess.

Are you SURE it's not Dragon Warrior?

The only games I can think of for the first one are...
1. Hylide
2. Dragon Warrior
3. Final Fantasy
If it's not any of these games, then it must be a game I've never heard of.
And because it's not Dragon Warrior, I don't think it's any of these.

uhm. Actually reading is fun!

That's the one. Thanks Colin. You're like a hero and stuff.

In the NES game, you're a robo dinosaur or something. It's a side-scroller. I remember it being really hard, and you had upgrades, but I think you could lose them easily.

The game also could be Metal Mech, but I don't remember a game playing as a big robo dinosaur with upgrades,so that was a wild guess.

No we didn't. There is still one more mystery RPG to find. It was the one we started with. He just added blaster master to it. You know, this would make a great game in the brain teaser thread.

I have to agree and say Guardian legend...

That game has to be Blaster Master, no doubt about it. You'll notice right away when you give it a spin.

I hope one day I'll figure out what this mystery game is.

I've got two more I'd like your help from, guys. I'll just name this one for now:

NES game. It starts out as a 2D side-scroller. You're in some sort of jeep, some kind of vehicle that can jump, and I think shoot some blasters as well. In this first level, I'm not sure how long it lasts, but you eventually make your way into a lower area, and you're confronted by some sort of guardian robot or monster. You have to kill it by firing at it very rapidly. Then you get out of your vehicle and go in this door.

After in this door, the game changes to an overhead 2D game, the way the old zeldas were, but futuristic, and you have a blaster. Your character has a white helmet on as well.

That's all I can think of.

Although that's obviously for an arcade and not NES, my friends and I recently played Dragon Spirit (we were just playing random shmup's). So there's an NES version out there.

Did you read th thread? its not about dragons, your a guy and you start out in a dungeon. I'm thinking the battle style is earthbound-ish too.

There were plenty of crappy NES hacks distributed on fake cartridges. Pirates would just take a game and hack the graphics a bit.
This is a long thread. Click here to view it.
