Yeah, I was gonna suggest what ziff said. You can volunteer with any charitable organization, that's definitely helping, and it wouldn't cost you money. And at least for me, I'd feel like I accomplished a lot more by actually helping, not writing a check. |

Christian Children's Funds are usually the best way. They do more work on the economic side of things. Building schools, making jobs, etc. and stay away from dropping crates of food into a tribal area from a Hercules aircraft which is just turned into a war commodity.
Or better yet, get involved in the organizations by doing volunteering with the hopes of eventually doing travel to do direct help work in the regions that you see as most needy. |

Ignore those commercials. Only 25% of the money you donate goes to the kid. The rest goes to the company making the commercial.
Guilt is a common human emotion. We just gotta deal with it, I guess. |

Well ... what happens is whenever i see those comercials about sending money to kids in [INSERT THIRD-WORLD COUNTRY HERE] i fell ... well guilty that i have the Potential to help but i cannot, i mean i help out alot (as long as it doesnt include cleaning anywheres in my house and my roomisproof) and this is one of the few things i cannont help. So my question is this does anyone else ever have this feeling? and if not why me?   |
