ZSNES still supports BMP, but its PNG support doesn't work properly for everyone.
I got off easy. The worst I've had to deal with is one clipped line of pixels on the bottom and four columns that have their green color value off by four gradients. Still, he could have used a converter, but he didn't. Sometimes it's easy to overlook the obvious (*had to ask where the approval forum was..*) |

I'm fairly certain that ZSNES *did* use a different format for screenshots at one point, and it might have been BMP... but that was a while ago. His ZSNES would really be out of date if that was the case. :\

I don't get a choice  for me, takign an in-game screenie using ZSNES distorts all the colours.

Whatever ZSNES generates, you can convert it afterward. Personally, I prefer to simply use print screen. |

My ZSNES at the time wouldn't let me change what kind of picture file it produced, so I had to go with it. I redownloaded ZSNES and now it uses .PNG. |

You fail for using .bmp. I'd have posted this on your site but the comment dealie doesn't seem to work.  I wouldn't oppose his approval just because of that, though. |
