If you're using SMB utility, just right click of an object or sprite and send them onto another room. It's much easier this way than adding objects using YY-ME or replacing FD on a level in your hex editor. Those requires level and sprite offset pointers to do so in the hex editor.

So use SMB Utility for your own use.

I think SMB Utility is more accurate because of the level pointers. While you add objects using this option it increases their level pointers while YY-ME does not. It's all about the level pointers while you add objects in the game. AP even set up some tips on SMB Utiliity

Here's a copy that's partially translated into english. Dcahrakos translated alot of it though, but you still see some (?) in some windows in the editor.

I looked up for about an hour, but all links i found about a english version of smb remodeler were corrupted or the file has not been found.
Can anybody who has it upload it to rapidshare or megaupload?

YY-ME doesn't actually add objects to the game at all, what it does it take objects from the start of the next level (In data form, not from 1-1 to 1-2)

You've gotta be careful while playing with YY-ME, or you can make some mistakes which are royal pains to correct. SMB Utility is also the same way, but it shows what happens much more accurately.

so, i found out, that YY-ME can add more objects to maps in smb1, but if i do this, it f****s up world 1-1 and various others. and if i make world 1-1 normal, then something other is going crazy. So can something change the object count of levels without doing crazy things?

I don't think there's any editors for that... and on the off chance there is, it's probably in Japanese

Try switching from PAL to NTSC in your emulator.

Note: I may have those mixed up.

Hi all,

I'm doing my first hack with the base of SMB1. But as I noticed on devolping, the game runs about 2x of the normal speed. Also the Sound is faster than normal. So i count up my questions:

1. How can I fix the Speed-problem?

2. How can I change the sounds? Is there any program or anything?

3. Is there an english version of "SMB Remodeler" or something, which explanates it?

4. If and when "yes" how I can add more Sprites (Boxes;Bricks) to levels in SMB Utility?


So that where my questions about hacking SMB. Hope some1 can help.
