Yippie.. (I'll let you decide whether that's sarcasm or not, I honestly can't decide myself)

I came here yesterday, with a single question.

I'm more of a coder of games, than a hacker of games, so I figured I'd never bother posting in the hacking section of this forum. To be honest, in all my times making games, I've never really felt the need to hack another person's game. To take a level of my own design, and stick it into another game feels kindof like a waste of time. If I ever do come up with good designs, I pretty much stick them into my own games.. It'd be a waste of good design not to.
The only time I ever did feel I could give it a go, was with Sonic 2, when I felt I could stick my own "Platdude" character into the engine, and give the whole game a weird Platdude Blocky feel.. That didn't go too well, so I gave up really early on.

So, I came over, and asked my question. I felt that my question about reading level formats wasn't too much of a "Hack", and was more of a "Read", so it'd be safe enough in the general "Help" section, instead of having to bother registering for approval to the Hacking section. Plus, lets be honest, given my lack of Hacking ability/usage, I'd probably very rarely visit enough to warrant having to register into the Hacking section, so it'd be a waste of time having the moderators tweak my acount for what in all honesty would probably be a pretty much unused account.

And so this morning, I was a bit miffed when I found myself having to ask for authorisation in order to reply to my own topic which had of course been moved to the nice new Read-Only section.. Ho hum..

I guess I have to ask for approval!
