Ah, they stuck it in the movie options. I guess you're supposed to record a movie, then dump it to a video file? Doesn't seem to be working if that's the case. It records but doesn't create any video file. |

Weird, in the "New Features" readme, it said "Added support for recording audio files" or something. |

You can set the song length in the file properties.
Originally posted by Chainlink1061 I see no rip-to-WAV function. Also, just like the original ZSnes, its sound emulation isn't very good and doing something as simple as scribbling in Paint makes it crackle and lag; no chance in hell I could run Audacity at the same time. |

Got that to work, but I still have a problem:
Is there any way to get the SPCs to loop forever, like they do in other SPC players? Playing them in Winamp causes them fade right after the first time through the song. Any suggestions on that? |

Isolate the sound channel in particular and then shut off all the other ones that aren't necessary and then follow the post I made by having a sound recorder (of some type) running on record while you have the emulator produce the SFX. |

EDIT: As much as I hate to admit it, one version of Zsnes has the ability.

Hm, I'd like to rip some sounds from SNES games to WAV too. Problem is I can't use SPCs as it's the sound effects I want (the game has a sound test I can use), and emulators all either take up too much processing power for a sound recorder to work, suck at sound emulation producing wildly varied and distorted results, or both. |

Okay, I got SNESAmp to work. But there's no option to recording WAV files... Any suggestions? |

It's probably a heck of a lot better getting SPC dumps, particularly from SNES audio archive, and get Winamp and Goldwave together. Being able to save in MP3 and OGG while editing what you want exactly is a good thing...but at the same time with Winamp you can play any song indefinitely AND you don't have to worry about high filesizes.
You're definitely far better off with sets...you just need to know how to use them. Unless you're needing the audio direct out of the SNES for sound effects that aren't emulated in sets (which are rare) then you don't need to use an outside source to get it. If you REALLY needed to...you can just record with a WAV recorder, particularly Goldwave, and just record from the Mixer input. Start the record, run whatever you need, stop that, stop the recorder. You got the WAV, now edit the silence out and fade according or do whatever with Goldwave. That's the down and dirty way to get any sound you want from anything. I had to do that with some of the Compile-engine games before they FINALLY ripped the games for it. It wasn't a perfect rip, but it was darned close. Games like Kirby's Avalanche weren't previously rippable easily by emulator about a year or so ago. |

even better, it lets you output to .mp3 files too.. so you don't waste assloads of hard disk space. |

There's an SPC plugin for Winamp (I think it's called SNESAmp, plainly enough ). And from there, Winamp lets you output to WAVE files. |

Thanks, I suppose I better download the new Snes9x.
About the SPC thing, the reason why I want the WAV recording feature is so I can record some soundtracks and burn them onto CD. I don't have a program that allows you to record sound from the computer, so I needed the WAV record option. Thanks for your help though |

I'm pretty sure Snes9X has the option, but wouldn't it be better to just get SPC sets? |

Hello, I was wondering if there was a SNES emulator that allowed a 'WAV Record' option, like VisualBoyAdvance's. There's about 20 different emulators, and I don't have the time and/or patience to go through them.
Thanks for your help. |
