I think it'd almost be interesting to see a log of how many times people click the link.

Just hope they don't discover the quick forum jump menu.

But I can understand why people hate the pokemon hacking community, because it's like the Mario World hacking community, but with more stupid and less actual work done. ;

Well, yes xD they wouldn't know what a forum ID is let alone what we're really talking about.

You forget that most of them wouldn't know what we are talking about, much less how to solve the equation. Even so, there are always bound to be idiots that will get by the "filter".

Oh, thanks. But I really think it should be something harder

And I was right. It was a stupid question on my part

I just had to solve that, even though I already knew the answer.

The answer is the forum id.

Regarding not just this post, but many others as well by you, I have never seen someone so concerned with fluffing their postcount and contributing nothing to the thread.
As far as the degredation of the Pokemon hacking forum, most kids that like Pokemon like them in their pre-teen years. At that time, they are not very knowledgeable in the area of computers, relatively speaking. They find one day that they can hack pokemon, and they think that this place is just a happy-go-lucky community with no problems, and everyone's willing to walk you through everything.

Wrong. It hits them like a brick wall when they are flamed, their threads are closed, and, being very immature as some preteens can be, don't read the rules, and post more threads and re-registering when they don't get their way. There were just so many Pokemon kiddy fanboys that people with "at least 3 brain cells" can get into the Pokemon hacking forum now.

PS: Ailure,1089 has no rational square root, but it can be simplified to 3 times the square root of 161.

I don't do the hacking, but I have always been interested in what projects people are working on for those games

This may sound amazingly stupid, but I've solved the problem I've seen posted around (cube root of such and such), and I don't know what to do with the answer

The reason it was closed was because it was becoming too much to handle, and I was more or less running that forum alone anyway, so Xk and I had a little fun which actualy turned out to be an incredibly well done reform. Just deal with it. If it dosn't bother you, then don't make a thread about it. Its simple ._.

...Wow... that's insightful... postcount ++

Anyhow, as partially mentioned before, I'd have to attest that the immaturity level (directly attributed to age) of the users who post in the pokemon forum, who we call noobs, destroys the forum, because frankly, that's who mostly likes those games. And if they like the game but have already beat it, the next logical step is to hack it and make it "better"... but they can't because they have no patience, experience or intelligence. All the other things come from that; asking for others to make hacks, asking stupid questions, etc. At least that's how I perceive it.

I dont care, I was just wondering lol.

Because of people like you.

And the people who actualy know what they're talking about are damned SCARED to post anything worth while in fear of retards asking them to make their hack for them, or even more common, steal stuff FROM the hack and use it in their own in an attempt to look cool but fail miserably. Why is this thread even still open

The fact you even had to make this thread sort of shows why the forum section ended up like it did.. And though I probably seem relatively new here to most, I'm more realistically one of the longest running lurkers this forum has ever had. (if not "the" most, I can remember the first board even. =P)

But I digress a little, despite how I look.. I actually know better than to ask stupid questions when I actually do post. And you know what? People respect you a bit more when you sit back and pay attention before blurting out nonsense questions, especially ones you could find out the answers to for yourself easily enough. After all, being a novice is fine, but you aren't going to get a lot of respect if you don't try to pick things up on your own..

Also, if you "don't know where to start" or some such thing, then common sense says that you probably aren't ready for the project you're attempting, and you'd be better off starting somewhere on lower ground (outside of Pokemon hacking in this case) and learning the bare bones from other sources.. If you can't do that, then don't expect anyone to hold your hand, the majority of us never had anyone do that for us and that's how we've gotten to the point we have in our ability..

Oh and.. I've never even looked at Pokemon hacking more than at a glance once or twice.. (Yes.. I've lurked this long and never bothered to visit that place, it just never appealed to me to begin with.) And I knew automatically it would be filled to the brim with crap.. If you don't understand why, then your perception of the internet is likely not fully developed yet, because it is just common sense to me (and the admins, and the staff in general) that such a forum as that is going to attract the most idiotic and laziest of people ever. If you still disagree with that much, you're likely part of said group of people, lazy and idiotic. Harsh, but eh.. Sometimes that's needed.

I don't think the "I'm a fan I can do anything" determination is a bad thing, but it does remind me of a little anecdote from my days of being cut from high school soccer: The team captain once told me that to play soccer, I needed two things: Heart and Skill. I had the heart, I just needed to gain the skill. Of course, I tried as hard as I could to get better, but in the end it just wasn't enough. Determination can only take you so far on its own before you have to really hunker down and learn something. Remember that! It's important advice. If you do want to hack, you have to really keep it clean and dedicate yourself to actually learning a thing or two. Otherwise, yeah, you're just gonna be labeled a n00b.

Well, if you're concerned about being labelled a "n00b", make a point of proving that you are not. And hopefully in doing so, try to bring up the general post quality of the forum.

Of course, this advice can be applied to the forum in general / posting behaviour in general.
