Actually, it's 85%... but thats ok. Freeware can be better than commercial software, but you have to know what you want...

Yes, its called a crack. Which is illegal. Search google, I bet there are a million, but about 900,000 of cracks you'd download would contain worms/viruses/spyware.

My advice is to get Alcohol 120 and just change the datatype to PSX. You can mount the image or burn it; whichever you prefer (mounting it let's the disc load faster since it's actually on the HD) I had a trial, but it ran out
Now I use the super slow, super free Burn At Once!! Wait; that's for Windows. Wait; so is Alcohol 120... DAMMIT!

Nope, there's not, but isn't there a virtual PC thing for mac that let's you run Windows or Windows software?


Speaking of alcohol 120, is there a way to get past the stupid trial limitaion (ya know, after 30 days it doesn't work) with out buying it?

Well, both cue/bin and toc/bin provide a way to record and store meta-information about a CD-ROM, including all of the tracks and how they appear on the disk. Particularly useful for audio CDs that have non-standard pregaps, or a mix of data and audio tracks, or maybe some data tracks that are normally not seen by conventional means.

It's possible that PlayStation has multiple data tracks, it'd make sense for making piracy more difficult. I have no PlayStation CD-ROMs though, so I can't check.

I was sorta unsure of this. I know some file holds the physical map; is that the .bin file?

Either way, you can't just drag-and-drop burn the .iso, or you will just have a .iso file on a CD. You need to set it up properly so programs can access the files.

Allright, my bad. Still, I think the problem is of the same nature.

My guess is your method isn't burning the .iso correctly. The .iso is a file contanining the contents of a CD and where it is physically placed on the CD. The .iso itself is NOT the contents of a CD. It's packaged into a different format. You can't just drag-and-drop the .iso and burn it; that just burns the .iso to the CD. You still have the same format and file, just on a CD. You need to use a program that can understand the .iso file and translate the format into the actual files. Then you will get the actual files inside the .iso out and onto the CD.

Think of it like a .zip or .rar format that's meant for CD contents. You can't just run a .zip or a .rar with info inside it, you have to get the contents out.

Try Nero or Alcohol 120% to burn a .iso properly. I'm not sure if Alcohol 120% has a Mac version, but it's what I use.

Or, like Dr_Death said, get a virtual drive. I use Daemon Tools, but that's for Windows.

Two things I can think of: one, CD-burning software like Nero would be better for burning an iso, as it has custom options to do so. Second, you could see if you wanted to just mount the .iso to a virtual drive, using a program called Toast (the Mac equivalent to DAEMON tools). This is a good alternative to burning the CDs.

First off, Playstation CDs have different copy protections that might be different than whatever CD you're using. Try taking a PSX CD you have, dumping it to an ISO, and then burning it to a new CD. Does that work? If not, it is something with the CD or the way you are burning it.

Yeah.
I just Downloaded got an ISO of a PSX game.
I burned it to CD, and ejected it.
I pushed it back in, and opened PCSX (Emulator) and pushed Command - R (Boot from CD/Run).
Now it says "This is not a Playstation CD".

What am I doing wrong?
I burned the ISO, isn't that all?


Please help. Note that I'm on a Mac.
