Sigh. Link, on 1, spin jump along the ghosts in the second room. On 2, bounce a shell off the block right of it to hit it. On 3, you probably screwed something up since it's not supposed to be that way and no one else has reported it. Pikaguy, it's up the area you fall down at the start.

Does anyone know where the secret exit in Harmony Island 2 is? I've fallen down a few pits to find it, but I haven't found it yet. I'm also searching for the secret exit in Luccara Plains 2. I can find the key, but it's like the Keyhole is missing. (Or is that the level where the Keyhole is right above the Key? I don't remember.)

Edit: Nevermind about the Luccara Plains 2 Keyhole. I can't believe its location is obvious, and the key is with it. I guess I never did find that thing.

1. I cannot find the secret exit in Ectopolis cemetary, but the normal exit was really easy to find

2. In the level right after that, I can't figure out how to hit the block to make the vine grow up to the keyhole, but the key is easy to get

3. Only in the fourth star warp can I actually access the level, in the other three, moving right or left or whatever does not work.

Thanks in advance.

Gah, I've kept playing, but still havent resolved ANY of the above. Please help

No, make an object entirely out of slopes. With cement blocks, if the level changes, you have to jump. And that's no good.

Better yet, make a level of cement blocks.

For your sake, I really hope you just phrased that really badly, 'cause that made no sense. Seriously, they don't hurt you and you don't have to do anything with them... So they're bad?

Better take out every scenery object, too...

You have to stand still to get everything you want out of said block, and very rarely are they so positioned so standing still is a liability. Even then, who'd want to put themselves in danger for some stupid-ass coin? Thus, said blocks suck and if hacks don't have them, it's for the better, not worse.

Who's forcing you? The player can do that if they wish, but the gain is negligible. There are pits in my hack, giving the player to fall down and commit suicide easily. Are they forced to do so?

A.) That's no fun
and
B.) there's not a lot to choose from if we're limited to the stuff you didn't royally screw up.

Also, all this bullshit about coin blocks being good is is really starting to tick me off. They're just pointless little things off to the side that give you one percent of a 1up, and in the multi-coin blocks, they're pointless little things off to the side that force you to stand in place and jump repeatedly. Ouch. All my future hacks will probably have no regular yellow coins at all.

'cept in Twilight Galleon 3.

Er, ok. I liked your secret levels alot, I forgot to mention those when I made a little review for your hack.

The core of the earth level left much to be desired, though. It would have been nice to make an open area that Mario gravitates to the center of with a goal point sphere, or make the center be made of gold or something. Plus, it's obvious as large as the world is, that you'd have to go way deeper. As for the physics level, great use of layer 2. For mirror (gosh, it was hard to find ), It was a challenge getting through that level alive. I liked the craziness level, because I could go there and easily get a cape, which I like better than fireballs.

Well, crappy hacks don't use coin blocks, or coins often. Non-crappy hacks use them more often. However, I don't recall another hack using multi-coin blocks (except SDW:TLC) until I played yours. It's just something that people tend to overlook as a SMW element. I didn't even see any coin blocks, much less multi-coin blocks in this much-praised hack. There were two used blocks in one picture, and Mario had a "1000" over him, so one was a mushroom. The other block may have had a coin, but I'm not entirely sure.

That phraise probably symbolizes the billons of sloppy hacks w/out decent coin and item box layouts. (such as no coins in a level and only a few item boxes with powerups, 1ups, vines, ect.)

...

Not many people use coin blocks?

... You sure about that?

As for my 100th post...

I don't think it's something that just happens in SMW, because I tried for a while and couldn't get the results you got when hitting the bottom corner on the multi-coin block in Vanilla Secret 1, on an unmodified SMW rom.

This is probably native to this hack, and possibly others, except that not many people seem to use this block, so we may not know.

Then there could potentially be some other factor involved. The whole of SMW Hacking is generally screwy for some reason (and I'm not talking about the stupidity), and many hacks seem to have random problems that other ones don't. I don't know why, nobody else seems to know why, and everyone is too lazy to find out why. Don't blame me for that explanation though - it was Alastor's thoughts that "determined" that it was a SMW Bug.

However, the thing about hitting the far right pixel is for sure correct. I was even able to get it on video, although by accident (and in Lucara Plains 3, I believe). Here's a screencap of the action a split-second before Mario hit the block, got crushed, and died.

Then why is it that said glitch *only* seems to occur in Mario's Return? I've never had said glitch happen in SMW or a SMW hack but this one, and with this hack I've had this glitch happen twice. It happened once in the exact same place as the screenshot above and once, I believe, in Teacup Island 1. Or 2. Well, somewhere around there, there were some note blocks and some Sumo Bros. and it happened.

It was established that that bug happens when you hit the far right pixel of a coin block with nothing but air to thr right of it, and possibly the far left pixel when nothing is to the left. It's a bug in SMW, not a bug specific to the hack.

I drop into the cave, hit the multiple coin block from the lower right-hand corner, and Mario dispappears and dies.

This same thing happened to me in teacup isle 1 after I spinjumped off the digging chuck that is immediately to your left when you go down the pipe to the underground portion.

No, he's right... Kyouji really did drop the ball with the text here. Sure, I KNOW he's capable of writing decent text, and sure, Mario doesn't demand especially cleverly written message boxes. It's just that if I didn't know better, reading through that stupid "forest" level message boxes and castle beaten text (Koopa and Boos competing for something now? What?) I'd think Kyouji couldn't understand English either.
