Now, a brain fart to me is when you grab some dirty clothes and take them into the bathroom where the clothes hamper is and spend half a minute staring at the toilet trying to figure out what you were trying to do before dropping your clothes into said toilet even as your brain is trying to stop you. |

Earliest memory of my own was playing Suepr Mario World, and being pissed off becasue the SRAM chip had failed.
No, not the battery. someimte te chip would hold to 12 exits, other times it'd die at empty. Got a new cart for $20. Still have it. |

I think everybody occasionally forgets what they're doing or what they were just thinking about. It's called a brain fart. |

I'd talk to someone about something, and then just suddenly stop. I'd forget what I was talking about, and because I really wasn't in the conversation yet, the person wouldn't know what I was talking about, either.
I've forgotten something twice in a row. I'd walk somewhere, let's say the kitchen for ice cream. I'd forget about it, so I'd walk back to my room. Then I'd suddenly realize what I was going to do, so I would do it. I'd forget yet again, and return to my room. I'd remember what I was doing one last time, and then my mission would finally be done. As for an earliest memory thing to just keep it going on, it would have to be playing Donkey Kong Country or Super Mario World. I was about 3 or 4 at that time. |

Speaking of amnesia, I had a concussion today. It's always fun to wake up on the ground with no clue how you got there. |

That's happened to me before too... sometimes I'll be thinking soemthing, then instantly forget what I was thinking. some itmes I can never figure out what it was I had been thinking about... other times I rememeber, after a few minutes. |

Yeah, but it stopped when I stopped drinking so damn much Pepsi. |

THAT right there is forgetfulness, HH |

I had that happen when I drank way too much caffiene. I'd go downstairs to get a drink and when I got halfway down the stairs I'd forget WTF I was doing. |

Not actual amnesia, but I've "lost time" before. Generally it's just a few seconds, but it weirds people out when I've been talking to them actively and suddenly I can't remember what we're talking about. One time as a little kid (maybe five or six) I lost a whole day without noticing. I went to sleep and when I woke up it was two days later. Apparently I had been acting completely normally during that time that just wasn't there in my memory. |

The only time I ever had anything resembling amnesia was at about 8 years old. I crashed into a tree at a fairly good pace while riding a toboggan. I knew I'd just crashed into a tree, but I didn't know where I was. Then I heard my teacher's voice, and I was surprised for a while... Only several minutes later did I remember that I was at school, even though it should have been pretty obvious, what with a bunch of classmates and my teacher there. Getting hit in the head does weird things to you. |

The closet feeling of amnesia I've ever had was a few weeks ago, actually. It's been raining here a lot recently with large thunderstorms, which is strange because my city is pretty dry most of the time.
Rain is such an odd occurrence here that I decide I wanted to go outside and stand in it, get my hair a little damp or something. Not even four seconds outside and there was a lightning bolt that struck so close to the house (it could have been less than a block away) that I thought that I'd actually been hit. So I stood there with my ears ringing and eyes seeing nothing but a giant after image, and all my mind would think was, "Oh my God, I've just been struck by lightning." It's like somebody had hit the restart button. Then everything returned to normal and I realized that I hadn't been hit. I felt really foolish even thought there was no one else around. My first memory is at the Natural History Museum and being afraid of the volcano exibit. |

I kind of know what you're talking about. I've passed out before (on purpose), and when I came to, even though I had only been out for a couple of seconds, for at least a few seconds I had the a "just being born" feeling, sort of like I had always been passed out, and everything around me was completely new. It's very wierd.
As for my earliest memory, I have a few memories from when I lived in a large apartment building in south Detroit, I'm not sure what order they happened in. The two most vivid ones were when some guy picked me up and held me over a railing several floors up, and I screamed and cried, then my mom came over and started yelling at the guy, and when I opened up a dresser drawer and there was huge rat in it, I think I screamed and cried over that too. |

I have a very vivid early memory of a night I spent in Chicago. I must have been 2 or something... we were visiting my Aunt's family in their house in downtown Chicago. My parents are always surprised beyond belief that I actually remember that. Besides that I have a pretty fuzzy recollection of went on after that up until I started living in Illinois at age 4 and started actually being aware of things I was doing and what was going on. You know, of watching TV and playing with waterguns, chasing frogs in the woods. |

The first memory would either be when I was three years old imitating this old Bugs Bunny cartoon, or with my three year old cousin Shelby taking a bath with me.
I don't know. |
